Ray lit up C&R by posting an email from Crazy Susie to the Prince of Sleaze, Captain Dan Carey. Even though Susie was correct in many of her criticisms of the Prince, it read like the rantings of the schizophrenic madman down at the bus stop, full of histrionics and wacky accusations. It was classic Susie.

Ray actually expected it to be received by the pilots as the perceptive observations of a seriously deep thinker. The thread instead erupted into complete bedlam.

The saavy AA boys were not impressed by Ray's latest effort to stir the pot. Back to the drawing board.
 
Wow! Crastor has completely blown his O rings! Entertaining however. Kind of like Ray.
Now Susie.... I recall her showing up at a PHX Crew News with her gaggle of kids. Parker was literally recoiling after she started her crazy rant. He was quickly reminded of what kind of aviators AWA was hiring in the day. Strange types. Lots of em. Kothnys, CJ Smalls, Ray, Vasin, and Duane Giroir. Oh, the nutty FBI reject Mark CDoyal. Johnny Mac.
Now Susie and Ray are trying to re write history and convince the LAA types that AWA was the go to aviation career in the day. Give us a break Susie. The AWA pilot management was run when these nut jobs were hired by Carl Wobser and the Aruba Drug Gang. Very telling. They hired the UFO seeing nut jobs, the Biloxi felon, the FBI psycho reject and the insane Narcisstic Capn Aux..
The LAA pilots are astonished by the AWA crazies.

Early reports are that the Legacy AA F/Os are in shock after experiencing some of the Phoenix Captains. They have concluded that one in particular is setting records for weirdness. Hard to believe that anyone could outdo Doyal, Kothny and the like but it is what it is.

The one setting the tongues wagging is none other than Stephen Gay, who gained system wide fame by hectoring Scott Kirby at every Crew News over providing "kiddie wings" to the flight crews. Kirby would grin through the loony speeches but it wasn't hard to imagine what he was really thinking. Scott is delighted to be out of here and is kicking Parker's butt at United. He still chuckles over his insane encounters with Captain Gay and loves it that he hasn't had one such experience at a United Crew News. The UAL pilots have been nothing but professional.
 
One of the sharper West pilots, Eric Ferguson, was settling into his position on the Negotiating Committee and most pilots were confident in his ability to do a good job. The Prince of Sleaze wanted him and the others out, however. The Prince's cronies on the BOD did his dirty work so now we have a new cast of characters, beholden to the Prince. We'll see how this works out. This will be my last contract and only for a few years but I hope the Prince's latest hijinks don't cause long term harm to the younger pilots.

The above rogues gallery of oddballs will eventually find a home in LA with Sneaky Pete Blandino in the Chief Pilot's chair. Even as Sneaky Pete does management's bidding to move up the ladder, he will cover for his former PHX misfit colleagues.

Kothny is about to be tarred and feathered by the JFK F/Os but when he bids LAX life will be good. Sneaky Pete thinks he is a great guy and will blame the F/Os for the inevitable cockpit blowups. The Sneakster is also a huge fan of career criminal Duane Giroir. Thinks he's a really cool dude, just a bit rough around the edges.

As for Captain Gay, the Sneakster thought his Crew News performances were brilliant. He also thought that the Captain always looked very cool on his trips as he carried his ukulele case through the terminals. Sneaky Pete's dream is to some day have an in-uniform jam session at the LAX Terminal 4 food court with Captain Gay on the ukelele and Pete on the bassoon. Cap'n Aux will distribute kiddie wings to the youngsters. Pictures will be taken and there will be feature articles in Airways Magazine and the CapnAux.com website.

APA President Dan Carey, the Prince of Sleaze, has left no doubt where this union is headed. The Grifter in Chief has decided that those who question his morally greasy shenanigans will receive scorched earth.

F/O Ray Burkett, formerly known as Ray Ray, has emerged as the most principled spokesman against this corruption among the candidates for office on C&R. It’s time for the Easties to bury the hatchet, step up to the plate and save our union from the most unsavory leadership imaginable.

I’m onboard. What say you?

Ray Ray had a snowballs chance in Phoenix in July, he has since tanked his chance to a snowballs chance in hell.

The Natives got a quick insightful tour into the wacky west pilot mindset. Juree Maree had some spot on observations of the AWA malcontents. The AWA hires such as CJ, Ray, Kothney, Dindack got instant radar attention by the Native AA group. The AWA group wouldn't have had a shot getting hired by any legacy, and here they are now flocking into 777 and 787 equipment, and still bitching about their screw job in seniority. These clowns continue to expound their wacky seniority ideas. Hopefully, AA will merge with Frontier or Spirit, and settle them back in a good slot job.

I would however, vote for Ferguson. He is actually extremely intelligent and would do very well leading APA. The rest of them, well........
 
Attention: AWAPPA SHOPPERS! (Part II)

A couple of U-Turns ago, we sent one out called “Don’t Worry, Be Happy!” We still believe it. And we still believe that as long as ALPA is off the property, they can’t pull a “fair and equitable” on us and force us to share UAL’s Downsizing pain. Yes, you ARE protected by the TA. And nothing AWAPPA says is going to change that.

But our former MEC leadership is still in total denial. They act like ALPA is still the CBA. Former LAS FO Rep Ray Burkett is living in a dream world. This is the “Ray Solution:”

Earth to Ray! Set up a “prenup” with UAL? Ray, ALPA’s not our CBA any more. And YOU aren’t the C82 FO Rep anymore. C82 doesn’t exist anymore. In fact, the entire LAS base isn’t going to last through the fall!

Sorry, Ray, but the UAL MEC isn’t going to give you or AWAPPA the time of day. They are represented by ALPA and ALPA is hanging it out if they negotiate with any group that isn’t the CBA. If they do and get caught at it, they could end up with a DFR that will make their $50+ million Duke-Spellacy settlement in the 1990s look like a parking ticket fine. The UAL MEC Merger Attorney is AWAPPA’s Jeff Freund. Can you say conflict of interest? How can he represent us and the UAL pilots at the same time? How can he give us any legal advice on defending the NIC while he’s representing UAL’s MEC? If a merger announcement is made, who do you think he will represent?

Enough of Ray’s fantasy union. At the bottom of this U-Turn is a summary of the first round of planned reductions over at UAL. The source is their internal employee “newsline.” We believe that the information is authentic. Note that the “first set of changes… will enable us to remove 30 of our B737 aircraft, the least efficient of our fleet.” At 6.5 crews (13 pilots) per aircraft, that’s a hit of 390 pilots on the streets. Proportionally, that would mean a furlough of about 148 LCC pilots if we were “fairly and equitably” sharing the pain.

The UAL internal forecast is just a blip on the radar screen when compared to the “What if” comments by Chicago Tribune reporter Julie Johnsson, written yesterday. According to her article (paraphrased, because of copy write laws – the link is: <http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/chi-sun-united-tilton-mergermay11,0,1669926.story> http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/chi-sun-united-tilton-mergermay11,0,1669926.story), the New “U” could park the entire 737-300 fleet (111 aircraft) of both carriers, producing over a billion dollars synergies.

At 13 pilots per plane, that’s an 11% reduction or 1443-pilot furlough from the total of approximately 13,000 active pilots. Proportionally, under ALPA’s “fair and equitable pain sharing,” the West hit could be about 192 furloughs.

So, does anyone really want a piece of that “fair and equitable” ALPA-pie or a Ray Burkett “prenup?” As much as you might hate USAPA, Ray, they do control both contracts. More importantly, they control the TA and its floor of 120 West planes and 202 East planes.

The profitability road that we are on is squarely on the backs of the AAA pilots. And as the breakdown of the second quarter financials indicate, the AWA portion of the operation continues to show a loss. This makes it all the more disheartening to learn that the AWA MEC approached management and relayed that the "West pilots would be outraged if the East was granted parity." Such sentiment sinks to a level that is not representative of our profession or of unionism at its most basic form. The inescapable reality remains that we make less for doing the same job. And our bankruptcy-garnered wages continue to generate a stockpile of cash even during a period when our operation is at an all-time low."

If the leadership of the AWA MEC "would be outraged if the East was granted parity" would anybody be surprised if ALPA National placed the AWA MEC into trusteeship and appointed true union leaders to run their affairs?

The AWA MEC should be ashamed.

RAY WILL SAVE THE DAY is the new slogan that will electrify crew rooms throughout the system. Growing numbers of Easties are joining the movement and are ready to unite with Westies and Natives to throw the decrepit Carey team out on their ears. F/O Ray Burkett is the one candidate who has stood out as a voice against corruption and sleaze from the current collection of insolent fools.

There seems to no new low that the Prince of Sleaze and his unsavory band of enablers will not reach. The latest bombshell to hit Prince Carey is his vicious verbal attack on APA Sec/Tres Pam Torrell in full view of members of the BOD. The sick lad called her a C_ _T and a F'ing B_ _ _H. Time for the evil Prince to go.

You are probably correct. Ray should be launched like an explosive brick right into APA headquarters. He is a complete head case as well as self serving. But who cares at this point?
He makes no sense and obviously has no understanding of union protocol. He's exactly what is needed to flummox Parker. Can you imagine the stares when Ray Ray goes on another one of his infamous nonsensical rants in a negotiating session? He will involve APA in an issue which might bring it completely down, and that would be a good thing.
