Sadly so. Instead of the whole thing being handled by rational adults capable of mutual respect for their "fellows pilots"/human beings; it instantly degenerated into just another sad display of the worst traits of our species. Should anyone ever wonder about the true root of all evil, it isn't money.  There's never any need to look further than sick selfishness and delusional fantasies of "It's ALL about MEEE !!!"
 
Per your notions of the company somehow losing and any imagined concerns for the corporate "culture" though; I'd guarantee they've happily laughed themselves to sleep at night ever since the 2005 transaction/"merger" finally afforded them entry into the merger-mania game as viable players of any sort. Internal strife within their highest compensated workers/peasants just added deliciously thick icing on their cake and handed them a gift to enjoy and exploit. Methinks your basic decency clouds your perceptions a bit there Bean. Take it from a grumpy old dinosaur that remembers an era when pilots were still actually respected: Woody Allen/Lilly Tomlin (both have versions of the quote attributed to them) were right. "No matter how cynical you become, it's never enough to keep up."

You know even if they get the 5 mil that's only about 1/3 of the total dues money they paid in over the last 9 years and that's not including their Leonidas or tie money donations. I wonder if the ARBs looked at it as their consolation prize for not getting the nic???
Nic or nothing has been expensive huh CB? To me it was worth it. What gets me is that you are still going to be old and junior after this is all over. So why do you get so worked up over it?

Who's worked up? I'm just trying to remind the USAPA-faithful of court decisions, court instruction, court dicta & expert witness testimony. Also the meaning of keeping your word in am agreement. Funny...you'd think your parents would have taught you that..

You should be able to read the date/time/place on the mailer that USAPA was ORDERED to send to the membership. I got mine recently.

To what even possible purpose at this point in time? Perhaps just to "hear yourself talk"? Is it still possible, even within the remotest realm of the truly bizarre little Fantasyland you obviously dwell within, that you or anyone at all can still imagine that ANY of that collective nonsense actually matters now? Do "you'se" seriously suffer from THAT much of a wholesale lack of any "clue" at all?

P.S. I've no idea just what brilliantly cut-and-paste "arguments" you might personally ever offer in full lieu of any semblance of actual thought yourself, but I've no doubt they'll always prove to be truly scintillating issues for properly reasoned "debate." If your implication is that those institutions are somehow academically inferior, I think you are sadly mistaken.

I would be delighted to have you share your distinguished academic resume' with us, so we may be duly impressed. It would be interesting to learn where you received your intellectual grounding and embellished your room temperature IQ.

It doesn't take trained HR personnel to realize that "studied at" means nothing if there are not letters following the academic institution. Resumes usually just include the degree attained, the institution and the year the sheepskin was awarded. You may audit classes at Stanford, but it does not make you a PhD. 
 
AWA was the airline that you went to if you did not have a college diploma, had a medical waiver, were a scab, had worked for Mesa, or had a violation. I am sure that was not true for all of those hired a the former AWA, but it was for many, else, why would you go there when other airlines were hiring? 
 
I certainly know why pilots went to PSA. PSA had flight attendants who were required to wear a form fitting outfit to the flight attendant interview before they were hired and they were former military pilots, with a few token exceptions.

Do you believe you are better than and more qualified than someone hired elsewhere?

Aren't we trying to define our own worth?

Who believes they aren't worthy of their own definition of worthy?
