What on earth happened in the Yield Management Department? Thirteen positions are posted on usairways.com.

Maybe they were unwilling to look at simplified pricing structures.

I believe that the positions are vacancies from the transition of jobs from INT to CCY. Yield Management and Inventory were split between the two locations and are being consolidated to one location.

Yield Management folks know the cost of living is to high around CCY for anyone making less than Dave. If we are going to be a LCC we need to move out of the high rent district. Cost of living in INT is half what it is around Washington.

Are we sure that this is the reason Mark? I had a co-worker leave several years ago to that department and when we went to the Sabre system, those employees also went to Sabre. A few were brought back to USAirways a few months later as NEW HIRES (they lost everything from senority to vacations, sick time etc.) and maybe the company is bringing back the entire department in house. Not sure of the reason..........

I doubt that any employee transferring from that dept in INT to CCY could afford a house in the district. Houses in the suburbs still must cost 2-3 times what they would in INT. Then you have the hour(s) commute, etc.

No house cleaning, huh. I guess just rearranging the deck chairs on the SS Airways.

Could be. But if the company is serious about fare rationalization, then this should become a very lean department.

Hope,

My sources tell me that the 13 vacancies are because of the people that were unwiling to make the move from INT to CCY. If you look at the pay level on these jobs, I dont' blame them one bit.

I think you are confusing the Help Desk with the Yeild / Inventory Management jobs. When SABRE took over, the help desk jobs went to SABRE and have been consolidated in to EDS now. Our in house Help Desk is no more. These Inventory and Yield Management jobs are being consolidated into CCY.

Maybe they all went to work for Independence Air 😀

Out of curiosity, were is INT?
