With a decent O@D market in CVG and not a single LCC don't you feel that it is time that WN move into CVG?
I know that the argument will be with CMH and SDF why?..it is to close....But with gas prices the way they are i think that each city could hold their own. What is the statistic that people from CVG drive to SDF or CMH anyway?
WN should try and tap into the the so-called loyalty that exists in CVG and put the pressure on Delta and FL in DAY.

Driving from Cincinnati to Columbus to save $20 or $30 bucks on a flight is out of the question, so you may have something there. But you have to look at the costs of the airport and whether it would fall into WN's structure, and whether the city has the market to support it. Probably does.

I truly think now that Gary Kelly is at the helm of WN, you will see CVG, but in about 1 or 2 years. WN is due about 100 planes in 2007 and 2008. I think cities such as CVG, MEM, and MSP will pop up on the WN route map. just my thoughts.......

CVG, MSP, and MEM all make sense for WN. But I think that due to the overwhelming success in PHL, opening up at ABE (Allentown) would draw more business away from EWR (90 miles east) and customers from NJ and east PA who have been forced to use EWR and PHL would have an alternative. WN would then have a similar game plan for the NYC area that it already has for Boston. I went into ABE last week, and saw that nearly a third of their front counter area is currently vacant. A full return fare from DTW to ABE on NW is almost $900. It would be very easy for NW to dominate that airport.

WN already is in SDF for quite some time now!

well it may be true that NW could dominate the airport, the sad part is is that NWA is laying off all of their employees here and some may stay on with whoever takes over. SWA did talk with airport officials a few yrs back and they told them to shove it up their a$$ because the landing fees are far higher here than in AVP MDT PHL etc and that is why SWA chose PHL and PIT over ABE. ABE has always been high since george doughty took over as the director. With Hooters getting ready to pull out as their freebes ends in March, only Allegiant will be hte charter low carrier until their freebie is over

That's really too bad to hear since ABE is an easy in/out airport that's convenient to most of NJ.
