If they get rid of a topped out CSA and hire a newbie, they could save close to $25000 a year on salary alone. Offering a decent buyout for those who just want to leave soon anyway could be cash positive in a year. Of course it would have to be someone who has medical from a spouse or is just tired of the airline business and wants some extra $ to hit the road. I know a couple close to retirement that are hanging on that would probably take the money and run and coast into SS and their retirement. In the meantime, they're gonna just stick around.
