FWIW, the $40M was over less than 2 years. W,G,& N got it when they left shortly before the BK filing in 2002, and of course Siegel got (will get?) his for leaving this month.

That's "only" about $750 per current employee for each of those 2 years.

Noted Jim,

But it does not change the big picture. People whom have dedicated their entire adult lives to this airline have been sacrificed...and continue to be sacrificed for far less savings to the company.

IMHO....rewarding failure is 99% of our problem. I have never seen an organization that promotes and rewards people whom are not getting it done.

Labor ends up being the whipping boy for all the poor visionless moves on managements part. We give , we get furloughed and they reap millions while we are asked to give millions or possibly billions more to keep this boat afloat. What's wrong with this picture?

I wonder why the rank and file have become so vocal about not giving more?

CEO pay isn't putting U in the dirt. It's in the dirt because the CEO can't figure out what kind of airline he wants to run. He wants to run an full service international airline, only do it with LCC ticket prices.
Not to engage in Business Conduct & Ethics and Zero Tolerance Policy-breaking gender bashing here, but maybe if the CEO weren't a "he" then SHE could figure out what kind of airline SHE wants to run.

Anita Beier for CEO! Anita Beier for CEO! Anita Beier for CEO!
