Why there will never be a T.A.

No doubt, but there’s no shortage of people on Social Media that think any/all posts are “telegraphing” labor’s position. I’m saying that’s absurd. Do you not agree?
NOTHING is more influential in this age than Social Media. The company knows it, Corporate America knows it, Vladimir Putin knows it... and YOU know it!

Saying that the company patrols these boards is not the same as saying that it derails talks.
Interestingly, we have an individual in here advocating for everyone to come and in and spill their guts for the company to profile. He knows forums like this allow for the company to attempt to influence contract talks with division. The focus is to incite discord by anonymous users, pretending to be concerned members. This is EXACTLY what is occurring here, and it has been on going for years. We always see an up-tick of these tactics at critical points in negotiations...
LIKE NOW!

What makes this even more interesting, is that this individual (by personal disclosure) does not work for AA. He is not even in a labor contract, nor is he even represented!

It doesn't take a genius to figure out what his agenda is really about...

He didn't even understand the regular pace of negotiations and often repeated how we always seemed to be at the crusp of a TA over the last several years.

He thought we'd never get close to Section 6.

I highly doubt after all those misfires his current stance builds any significance with the regular readers.

Imagine, someone that's been so epically wrong to this point criticizing others. It certainly take a certain amount of chutzpah.

I, too, thought this JCBA would have been done long ago thinking the company would benefit more financially from the synergies standing more so than the savings of delaying paying for a better, more expensive contract.
I can find no fault in anyone expressing their opinion as to which way or how things develope. ESPN makes millions making incorrect prognostications!

We have the company right where we want them.

Maybe Owens should come out with another YouTube presentation and let Parker know how AAs finances really are, because clearly a mech from JFK knows more then the CEO. Like when bankruptcy was a bluff.

They had their vote no campaign in BK while they said the Court would never abrogate their CBA.

That was after their, "they'll never file for BK," proclamations.

It's OK to misread a situation, but it becomes something else when those that misread, and do so consistently, try to convince others they know better.

This whole process has been telegraphed from the very beginning, except for the August 2016 raise. Even now, it is running a course that has been shared as the probable direction they'd take.

That direction was telegraphed when they asked an NMB Mediator to sit in last year. That showed how the airline was getting ready for Section 6 if there wasn't movement.

When they made their public announcement in March, it was easy to see that was an opening salvo towards making incremental improvements which helps them with the NMB even if it doesn't get to a vote.

When was the last Mediator sighting?
If a new mediator is brought in for Section 6 eventually, would they not start with an open mind at that point, or are they going to catch up in past history of the process to that point?
Even if it's the original Mediator I would think they would have to take up the issue from where it stands from there forward.

Sounds like another grudge.

So how long do you chose to hold on to all of those grudges?

They take the big picture point of view, they consider corporate America and other airlines as a point of reference. They know where we all stood when they were involved and where we stand now.

All these incremental moves the airline has made towards us may seem trivial but it sets a pattern of them moving towards us while we don't seem to move towards them.

After they get all the financial stuff out in the public like compensation & retirement, what will be left? Scope & Medical.

Where will the Mediator expect our movement to come from? Or do we just say no to everything?

I'd prefer to keep my great medical, perhaps raise the premium a bit, bring up LAA to our medical. Tell them to keep the unpredictable profit sharing for a known benefit and spice the offer by paring back elsewhere, such as shoft differential as an example

Most would want the cheaper medical but it won't happen. This airline has worked for 10 years to get everyone in the same medical and they're one group away.

Some say this is a different airline and there is a new management team, which is true. What's also true is those new Executives are now saying the same things the last Executives team said about the medical.

I don't take issue with paying a larger portion of my care. The issue I have is the coverage is greatly inferior in the AA plan. If I go to a specialist now I pay a$40 copays. Period. With the Standard plan, I would pay %20 of the bill. In many cases, just an office visit costs $600 leaving you with a $120 bill!
