"Please remember we still have 1,469 pilots on furlough, 276 pilots have been recalled and on May 14th, the most junior seniority number was 4,437 with a seniority date of October 25, 1999."

To all,

In the east, we have become, perhaps, all to familiar with this statement following correspondence from our union. These pilots are our own, yet there seems to be an appreciation when we meet those returning. And a blind eye for those left on this list. What kind of a union/company are we? We are all apart of a single organization both in company and union. Yet we can't seem to do diddly for our long standing employees still furloughed. Today, as I write, we most likely have cancelled a number of flights due to lack of flight crews. Why?

A little too late, maybe you should have thought about it before you let the company outsource the RJs,CRJ700 and 900 E170s and E-175s.

You voted your own jobs away.

Yup. I got my POTA (Of course I did not answer) call yesterday afternoon before I turned off my phone for the evening.

ALPA has alway been an organization (IT IS NOT A UNION!) that takes care of the top 10%. The premise in the past has been, "You'll be senior some day". No longer. ALPA must go and a real union brought to the industry. Maybe even since we have permanent F/Os, we should consider a seperate F/O union, negotiate for ourselves since the upper ranks (soon to be swelled by junior AWA pilots) could care-a-less what happens on the F/O end.

Same class and craft, the NMB would not permit seperate agreements and union for Capt and F/Os.
