This will be very interesting, I think it will be close but I predict the AFA will win.

With over 2 times the amount of F/A's at AA, why would there even be a vote? I predict that AFA won't contest it and just step aside quietly after they conclude a JCBA and seniority agreement. If we do vote, it won't even be close. APFA will win all day, everyday. You can count on it. Thats the only logical outcome.
I would assume after the merger closes. How long? Who knows. I can't see how APFA loses a representation election with such a large disparity in members. Contrary to the belief on here, the vast majority are very happy with APFA. Plus, they already know the devil they deal with on a daily basis and we all hear about how crappy AFA is. Besides, why would you want to send your union dues to the CWA? It's like voluntarily subjecting yourself to an organization like the TWU. No thanks.is this for after the merger closes for the f/a to vote for representation or change unions?
Yes, they do work together on mutual interests and they are both part of the F/A coalition.Haven't AFA and APFA worked closely in the past on various legislative matters like advocating OSHA protection for FAs, security training following 9/11, and things of that nature? Between more AA FAs, US FAs fed up with AFA, and US FA apathy I too imagine APFA will prevail. The CWA is propping AFA up, if it ends up like this all AFA will really be left with is AS & UA along with a few regional carriers.

I'd be happy with that.
I'm PHX based US, and AFA has been a complete failure for us.
I'm not talking about the individuals at the local level who volunteer and do the best they can, but, overall? Very poor leadership and representation from the national level, and contract negotiations were a complete JOKE. Also don't appreciate the fear tactics. I'd vote for APFA myself.
I was worried that perhaps AA FAs were just as unhappy with their union as many of us are with ours, and that would swing the vote the other way.
Reassuring to hear your confidence in your union.
The one big positive about AFA is they do have a very strong voice in Washington when issues affecting all FAs across the country come up. They can be a good advocate.
