Wow; watching that video again, it's hard to believe - anybody could be convinced by this Hewitt character.

He is just another stooge that bought into the fear based negotiation tactic, and then he spread that fear for his own survival benefit. This is just one of the dangers of low seniority representing your interest at bargaining table. Combine the low seniority with no skill and you have see what happens. In the end, fear of losing his own job trumps what is best for the profession.
