What's Your Gut Feeling

What will the judge decide I'm wondering what everyones gut feeling is on his decision........

He has up to 14 days to decide, I believe he will grant some type of paycut, the percentage I am not sure of. I just hope he does not grant the outsourcing.

the company has set the stage.....
they'll get temporary outsourcing until negotiated.
you know the rest of the story...only how much??

My gut feeling is there will be a substantial paycut, maybe not quite the 23%! The Heavy checks more than likely will continue temp to be outsourced. This judge has no choice here. If he looks at the real bottom line, his goal is not to be fair but to protect the creditors . He has to follow the law here, he has no choice!

I was thinking more along the lines of 5 or 6 % and he may allow the out sourcing
I cannot even begin to think about the rest of the long list these crooks asked for.
sick time, vacation, holiday, just take it all why even work here any more just riduclious .......

if alpa is looking at 18%...you should too.5-6 would be nice but its way off base i think.

ever hear of precedent? he can do just about anything he decides.....

Do you even know which law it is or what it says, or how much latitude he really does have in this particular instance?

If the judge allows mx outsourcing to continue, then he should suspend any and all scope restrictions on the pilots or any other group as well. Just because Lakefield and his henchmen have willfully spit the mech's contract in the past doesn't mean that it should continue just by precedence.

at the moment U has only filed for these things against IAM.....if ALPO votes down the t/a...guess who's coming to dinner.

I think he'll grant a significant paycut, but not 23%. My guess is somewhere around 18%.

I don't know if he can do this or not, but I'd like to see him force the company to impose the same % paycuts to all non-union employees that is forced upon the unions. If the company refuses then no paycuts go into effect for the unions.

Wishful thinking, huh?

I'm not sure 5 or 6 is off base after all it is all the hench men gave up. How can you ask 23% then only take 5% your self then get caught with you hand in the cookie jar with the 4% raise equals 1% ...

I'll give em 1% right now
ha ha ha ha ha ha....like that will happen

Tell you what, how about this? The non-union employees will also take a 23 percent pay cut if you give up your seniority, furlough and recall benefits. Then we'll have a level playing field.

Excellent point, USF

I think it all boils down to who he believes and who has more credibility...Labor or the Exec's. We know ourselves how we've be lied to, our contracts broken at will, and CCY pleading poverty while they continue to enjoy full pay and benefits. But I dont know if the judge is convenced. It could be he could order a lessor amount than 23% and require the company to show weekly cash that is unrestricted and if it begins to rapidly fall, then order further pay cuts. But I believe in my heart, he will be fair and order the cuts across the board to EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE, management included and non union included. With the company not paying it's leases and bills now, I not entirely convenced that pay cuts are even necessary. Could just be another of the many "smoke screens" the exec's are famous for deploying.

Not sure I understand what your point is. If I was salary and was paid on performance and not getting paid by my seniority. What do you think I'm worth I am very good at my job like a lot of others wouldn't the company just screw everybody and then rehire at a lower pay scale...This industry is not like others the greedy from all those boys clubs who see a quick dime come to this industry to make a quick million or two then leave with 20years seniority for retirement for 2 years of work .....bad work at that .........Please tell me what you J O B is .....
