If you are unfortunate enough to have a family member suffering a catastrophic illness or injury this job and its healthcare could be worth tens of thousands of dollars each month. If you are single and healthy and part-time it may only be worth $1000.00 a month.

USA320Pilot said the company is now free to ignore seniority and layoff as they choose. Is there anything stopping them from going after the most expensive employees, those on family-leave, OJI’s, those using a lot of sick time or those with the higest healthcare?

First of all dont believe USA320Pilot.

The collective bargaining agreements remain intact and enforced.

..for now they do. If the company has any sense about them they would seek to have those voided in court. Then they could lay off the most senior. Had they done that the first time, things MIGHT be different now.

I think I remember USA320Pilot saying that his healthcare benefits were very valuable to him and his family. If they can now bypass seniority, maybe that’s one reason USA320Pilot argued so passionately for a pre BK agreement.

Thus far, there is no such motion to furlough out of seniority.

On the issue of Healthcare benefits.....

USAirways is self insured. They set the premium...so, they can charge you anything they want. So, USA320, you can receive health care benefits as long as you can keep up the pace to afford them...we down here....can not.

I disagree with your reply. You left out two important things.

First of all don't believe USA320pilot

That's more like it!
