700UW,

Over how many years are those proposed cuts? Or is that number an annual figure?
That matters to you now??? Just vote YES..........again.

Note: The above statement to be read with extreme sarcasm <_<

This is going to be an INTERESTING summer!!!!!!!!

From what I was told by a Pilot who seems to be well-informed about Alpa, the productivity involved in the concessions...that being taking the Pilots up to flying 95 hours a month, would result (according to him) in about another 300 Pilots furloughed.

Somewhere, I recall being told a few years ago, that there is a formula for the Pilot-F/A ratio. Anyone know what this is??? I seem to recall, when U first started all the fourloughes after 911, we could pretty well guess how many F/A's would be out the door, based on how many Pilots went.

Well, at least US Airways would have the most experienced pilots on the globe.

AND US Airways would be the only airline in the industry to offers WALKERS and "The Rascal" as a part of the official uniform. Cintas could provide them...

hmmm...

"SMITHERS... is the preflight complete? I am prepared to take my flying machine airborne now."

There is no way that the idiots in scheduling can schedule pilots 95 hours. There's a lot of other obstacles like duty time limits, 7 day rules, 30/7 rules, etc. Of course, if the pilots are so desperate, they could work 26 day months with no guaranteed days off and probably do that. That'd just be another industry leading concession from them.

As far as effects on furloughs . . . that's not even a consideration. To a pilot anybody with a number junior to them is way bad expendable. "For the good of the profession," you know.

As far as the walkers and Rascals go . . . . . that's really cold . . . . but funny!

I can pretty much tell you the $41 million from Utility is TOTAL ELIMINATION of that classification.

We have disagreed before 700, thats past. I ve said this before, and I was ridiculed. I dont like this situation at U more than anyone. But i'll say it again, not only is utility going to take a hit, everyone, including mechs, are going to be slammed! Hate to do this, will probably get an earful........but....320 pilot I think is correct on this scenario as far as ALL work groups: Either the eployees go with the "transformation plan", or they will do it without us! Contracts be damned!!!!!

Now, CAV, before you get yourself all wound up and call me a self righteous, arrogant company man, take a deep breath and relax!!!! I dont agree with this scenario, I just feel this is how it is going to play out. GOOD DAY!!!

How the he// is there any 'productivity' room left in any contracts after 2 rounds of concessions and BK?

There are no productivity gains to be had in fleet and CWA - the current 'contract' is actually worse the the Personnel Policy Guide in place thru 99.

Cost savings in agent land will come from W2 cuts, increased bene costs, and bene reduction/removal.

As a side thought, we have all wondered how U would come after severance (gotta keep the parachute fund supplied  ).

Here's how. If they offer, say, a 50% reduction in seniority for pay and bene purposes, there goes a big chunk of vacation AND SEVERANCE.
