What is Retiree boarding priority?

I love retirees and I hope to be one someday! But they should board after active employees and before any guests such as unaccompanied parents, dependents and buddy passes.

Active employees are the ones keeping it going right now and have limited vacation. I may only have one or two chances a year to steal away for a few days to enjoy the benefit that is so hard to take advantage of now. Retirees can pick a different day.

What is the definition of 'retired' without a retirement?
I consider myself semi-retired because I only work one full time job.
If it were not for the dedication, hard work, and 'sacrifices' of your predecessors, you wouldn't have as much as you do today.
IMHO, this generation is more than willing to throw their seniors under the buss.
Our families have been fractionalized as they have been broken up to follow work and will only worsen as we become more ‘Globalized’.

My ‘retirement’ will only require one or two part-time jobs.

Sad thing is, it will be better than yours!

Hi UT - I really do appreciate your hard work in the past. But with that attitude - I bet people were happy when you finally retired. You are retired from the airline and that is that. Your choice to be semi-retired is the result of your very own situation - which the rest of us can't control. Maybe it was your faith in getting a pension instead of saving for yourself or whatever. Oh and if I wasn't coming here and demonstrating "dedication, hard work and sacrifice" like you once did, there would be no airline for you to nonrev on now! Like I said - retirees are very welcome (they are so nice like the little old ladies on the bus) - but you get on after me! And you get on after the two year employee! And after everyone else who is coming here everyday -- right here -- right now!

Not if they are a retiree from United. United retirees get on FIRST!!! As they should be, in my opinion.

If you merge with United, expect it to stay this way. We respect our retirees, first and foremost. We come second to them.

Fly, well said, as they all had to wait their turn and play by the rules when they were active! Let's hope the new company has the integrity to leave this benefit untouched. Then again look at the me first attitude that prevails with the 90 day newbies!

At American, retirees enjoy the exact same pass privileges as active employees, including boarding priority, vacation passes and a buddy pass allocation. The only difference is that retired pilots and flight attendants can't use the jump seats. The airport standby list is arranged by check-in time (up to four hours before scheduled departure), not seniority. Seniority determines the service charges, though.
I don't think AA retirees have D1 passes.

There are so many things I think United does wrong but at least they respect the retirees. Our retirees go first, even before a commuting flight attendant or pilot.

Positive Space (D/H Crew)
Retirees
Active Employees
Employees Family Not flying with them
Buddy Passes

What are Chelsea employees?

Would you call terminating pensions respecting retirees?

They most certainly do.

From the Trip Book:
Pass Travel Privileges for Retirees

If you meet the eligibility requirements for retiree travel, you, your legal spouse or Company-recognized Domestic Partner (DP), and dependent children continue to be eligible for unlimited D2 travel on American Airlines and American Eagle carriers.

Retirees are eligible for four (4) one-way D1 passes per calendar year.

The idea that a retiree gets priority over a active employee just shows how bad and stupid the entir seniority issue is. The worst idea ever and one of the main reasons this industry in not fixable!
Geezz .... I can't wait for you to retire!
