I try as a flight attendant to stay out of the way when utility is cleaning but each F/A is responsible for checking there DESIGNATED area for EMER Equipment. I also have to run behind catering to see if I was provisioned everything and check the water level to see is the LAVS were dumped. If we land in DEN because the LAVS shut down guess who gets the heat for the LAVS not being dumped?.....RIGHT....the F/A's for not checking the water levels!
Not to mention the gate agents right our on butts "READY TO BOARD"......I wish I could stand in the jetway and twiddle my thumbs but it's just not an option so, I try to stay out of the way. And if I want the latest PEOPLE MAGAZINE.....I will buy it.

So how is Utility suppose to Dump the Lavs if they can't get out of the Cabin?
It is amazing how much Garbage you find, these people are PIGS. As far as correct stuff in the seat back, the overnight crew is suppose to clean out every seat back and stock it with whatever is needed.

Folks, there are only 18 maintenance stations left, so that only leaves 18 stations where utility does the RON cleaning and security check. The staffing levels are so low that management is telling the utility folks in certain large southern station to do a thru flight cleaning and security check only, so that is the reason why there seat pocket materials are not replenished often.

Then you have the remaining 71 mainline stations where you have the ramp or a vendor doing the RON cleaning and security check, and I can tell you from experience the work is not getting done their either, and there is zero accountiblity on the issue. I flew twice in the past two weeks, one from a northern non-mtc station and one from a midwest non-mtc station and the seat pockets were not replenished and on one of the flight there was even trash in the seat pocket in first class.

It is a lack of manpower and accountibility as why the planes look terrible.

Cowboy, you need to understand how it works. As long as they come in under Budget, they get a bonus. The lower they come under, the LARGER the Bonus.

I understand the lack/shortage of manpower these days. I often really feel for the one lone cleaner breaking his/her back to get a 737 or Airbus cleaned lickity split. What might help is to have extra white bags in a galley compartment. I recall, there use to be extras on board, but lately they are hard to come by.

Actually, it has become rather feast or famine on the planes. One plane will have absolutely no fruit and the next plane will have enough to fill up a trash bag. It is all "pot-luck". Ya, take what ya get. B)

We had a little fun at the roachfest with what we called "Limes for Chiames" Chris was presented with about thirty nice fresh GREEN limes at our meeting, just in case he forgot what they looked like.
