What Ever Happened To The Little White Vomit Bags?

The last couple times I have flown UAir, I noticed they did not have the little white vomit bags.. I am really disturbed by this. I know this may sound like completely rediculous, but what happens in the case I may have to vomit, yet cannot get out of my seat (I fly in out of DCA)? Is UAir in so much trouble that they cannot provide vomit bags to their customers anymore? Would UAir mgmt rather I vomit all over my seat and the poor folks next to me?

Im concerned, I have to fly in a few short weeks.

What gives?

They are supposed to be in every seat pocket but, it never gets done. Just like it's the 6th of the month with July's Attache Magazine on a lot of the aircraft and the July movies are still loaded with no August tapes to be found. We call OPS or Catering to bring them and get ......"Uhhhhh we don't have them" or "We will see what we can do"...only to depart the gate without them.
And please try not to vomit on the seat....that will never be cleaned either. Just totally nasty and no hope in sight. One thing that Wolf did was walk on our aircraft and look around. If it was not clean or up to standard it was removed from the line until it was corrected. Appearance and image say a lot.

Maybe this is due to all the cutbacks, I'm sure 700 can say more on this one.

We need those little vomit bags at the ATO also. Everytime mgmt opens their mouth, we feel like throwing up.

I am sure it has A LOT to do with the cutbacks. I mean a planes comes in from LAX a little late and we are going to SEA.....1 freaking cleaner to do the whole cabin and it's trashed! I feel bad for the cleaner really. Then I get up in the air and passengers in 1st ask me for a wet towel to clean their tray-table. I am so embarrassed.
Management doesn't seem to care anymore.

USAIRBOY330,

I'm with you, it's so embarrassing to drop a tray table and have it covered with crud! I've taken to carrying a damp paper towel with me so I don't have to run back to the galley. That's how often it happens.

Many of the cities no longer have maint or cleaners. The ramp agts have to do six jobs.Maybe we should give each passenger a swiffer rag some lysol and a handywipe. But the reverse lunch bags should be on board. While we are on the clean subject,if I got a nickel for every inbound plane which I had to clean paper route amounts of newspaper, soda cans and juice boxes stuffed in the seat back.Well let's just say Mercedes.

pooh,

I hear ya! Trying to collect those items before landing is like pulling teeth! No matter how many times we pass by with the trash bag or ask if there's anything the customer would like to throw way, we still can't get the half of it!

We even make announcements before we do our final pass, some folks are sure attached to their garbage!

I go through with a trash bag at least 3-4 times on a 1 hour flight. The company wants the F/A's to be "proactive" in minimizing the trash. These passengers just don't care. They hide there trash everywhere!.....it's amazing. We try but they seem to love hiding everything. Plus, with all these people coming on with pizza boxes, big gulps...ect....we run out of trash room. Heck, 1 big Sunday paper takes up 1/2 of the trash cart.

I usually work the counter. The people actually never wait till we say next. You would never see that at a bank.Air travel used to be nice. People should treat the seat they are in like Granny's sofa.Maybe we should give they sloppiest passenger a badge of the When Pigs Fly.

USAirboy,

Dont forget that one friggen cleaner is only allowed 15 minutes to do his job and he/she had better have their butt off that plane or its off to the supervisors office they go. Its gotten to the point where the station manager gets on the plane to make sure that cleaner is doing their job. Not the maintenance manager but the station manager.

Even though the station manager is standing right there watching the cleaner he doesnt see the sky marshall, the flight attendants or the pilots getting in the way looking for reading material, not to mention the flight crew thats dead heading wanting to get on board so they can stow their luggage and find whatever reading material one of the other crew members didnt find, he only see's the cleaner not doing his job fast enough.

I understand that theres times the flight crew needs to get on board ahead of time but theres a limit as to how many crew members are needed to perform their preflight check.

Whose got time to put a barf bag in a seat pocket under those conditions?

Your right on there WestCoastGuy!!!!!! Res. needs puke bags at each and every position along with a PROZAC saltlick at the end of each isle. Do you think we can get this added to the budget??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
