Usair Pilots Screw Over Fellow (junior) Pilots

I agree that things will not be even and I didn't mean to imply they would. My point was that jealousy and envy become tools used by others to exploit weaknesses in all of us. They feed our negative feelings and then use them against us. Negotiations 101.

I didn’t used to give into conspiracy theories, but recent events have made me suspicious of every noise the talking heads make. Likewise, I hope the new MEC will tread softly until they know where this is all going. The whole pilot group is fed up with the "closed door" policies of late. Time we get all this out in the open and deal with it.

Thanks,

A320 Driver

3) Go fly for JBLU, AIRTRAN, FRONTIER !!

You know I have heard that Jblue, Airtran and Frontier has decided to stop hiring pilots from the regionals and the furloughees of United, Continental, NWA just so they can hire the disgruntled pilots from U. In this job market you would probably be lucky to get hired by Airnet.

Count me in as one of those who are NOT INTERESTED. I'll do something else before I put my family through this nightmare again.

A320Driver, that's a valid point - some folks just cannot control their envy.

OTOH, I, and you, have heard plenty of cockpit chatter about how overpaid agents are the problem at U (despite WN agents being paid 15% MORE while those conversations were being held), or overpaid mechs, or f/a's...or whomever.

We've certainly had a very vocal ALPA-type urging IAM to bend over on these boards often enough! I think you'll agree it's pretty despicable for a six figure guy to encourage others into the welfare line for his sake.

The bottom line is, what you make, and what I make are a)less than what WN makes, and B) NOT the problem at U.

I'd love to see some inter-union cooperation at U, as they have done a masterful job of exploiting labor to this point.

My suggestion for openers is for each union to agree not to criticize each other in any way, shape or fashion.

Who goes first?

Well the IAM, CWA and AFA get along very well, it seems ALPA jumps when the company calls so ALPA has to get on board and stop being scared of Dave and Jerry.

AOG,

I'll go first for AFA. I respect the pilots immensly and can appeciate their plight of not finding as readily a job out in the open market that will pay them for their craft. I can respect all they have given and what sacrifices they have made, those on the streets as well as those whose pensions are basically gone.

I am only of the hope that we all behave as you said and A320 Driver, let's not bash each other, and stick together as unionists for the "same cause with the same "mind set".......that WE all survive first and then, of course, our company. Hopefully we can achieve both goals at the same time.

PitBull ,

I won't pretend or try to be as bold as to speak for the IAM , yet on my own behalf as an IAM member....all I can say is this. I couldn't agree with you more. :)
