USair moves it operation next to AA in LAS

in my station rumor mill is that us is allegedly suppose to move to c terminal however wn wants all of c bec they are absorbing fl and in the next 2 yrs wn wants to do intl runs out of my station i think the scenario is that aa would end up with us in our concourse probably within the next yr and a half or less

Sep 4th US moves to AA terminal at JFK. They are putting the pieces of the puzzle together. Wasting no time.

AA is setting up to work contract maintenance on US planes in stations where US has no mechanics and AA does. JFK is the first starting SeP 4th.

are they being trained on it by us and what about in stations that aa does not have mechanics but us does?

Does WN have no more space at BWI in A and B concourse to absorb the Airtran flights as well as any new international lights? I think at BWI concourse A and B combined is approx. 25 gates. Concourse C has approx. 14 gates. I can't believe WN could not use the current A and B gates for their international departures and then arrive at E which has the FIS facilities? Right now the regular tenants of E concourse at BWI are BA (1 daily flight to London) and Air Canada (4 daily to Toronto) and Condor (to Frankfurt). So explain it to me like I'm a 4 year old why WN would need an additional concourse at BWI?

US moved from A to C months ago and they moved their ticket counter from one end of the main terminal to just across from AA, The back drop was painted white and US just put up a sign that said US AIRWAYS... very plain and simple. AA had moved all ticket counter to the other side of the terminal to consolidate. If anyone remembers the TWA days , US took over the ticketing side of the former TWA counter. Out on the concourse US is on the same side as AA the north side of the old TWA concourse. Years ago the STL Airport renumbered the gates and these are just north of what we call the ELBOW Concourse on the C.

the airport accroding to rumors from several people want us to move to the c but wn wants the entire c pier as their maxed out at a and b and the tsa just opened up a huge chkpoint for both concourse as well for the e pier amc military movement is often ac has about 4 or 5 daily flights a day and ba is daily and condor is about or has started their weekly service daily fl puts some 73s there bec of their intl but my understanding is wn wants the c pier for when they begin the intl service from bwi itll be interestin to see bec spirit has a few flights a day now out of bwi on the same concourse too

its my understanding that the only other logical place for customs is around the c pier which would explain wn needs and may be they want to keep all of their ops together just my thoughtsd no o not think your 4 yrs just simply telling what i have been hearing

Robbed,
Thanks for your reply. So if I understand you correctly, WN would be willing in a couple years to significantly expand at BWI, including international destinations, and take over concourse C if BWI builds a FIS for them there? It sound like a good deal then for WN - getting BWI to upgrade/build new facilities instead of WN using A, B, and E.

I can only tell you what we have been told by upper management here at SWA. BWI will be a big station for our international flights. From what they say int. flts are suppose to start next year sometime, not 2 years. Yes previous poster is correct that A and B is at full capacity for SWA. I also believe that SWA has already been in talks about using C for international before the merger talks between US and AA. Part of the talks had to do with location for SWA in C as well as BWI building facilities to handle the international growth plans as well as the growth plans domestically that will also grow directly tied to the international growth. And all this was discussed back when SWA bought AT with the full intentions of taking over the international flights from AT and fully integrate them over to SWA by 2014-2015. From what we have been told I think SWA is going to get the C terminal, but all that could possibly change with the up coming merger of AA and US.

swamt the scenario i see would be that aa moves from c to d and its my understandin that c pier is the only other logical place they could put customs at.. im not 100% sure but the source that told me that is fairly accurate. but the big quest is whthr or not the state which runs bwi would allow ua dl and the new aa on the entire d concourse as well as b6 and then where would spirit go to but i do see why wn wants c pier and that would consolidate all of their ops together in a b and c piers but your def right things could change our local news frugal mentioned recently that swa defintely wants c pier and they would probably pay to have what they need to expand intl ops out of bwi
