At about noon today I saw a USA3000 aircraft (A320 I think) being towed into the the PHL hanger. Is this a special situation or does US perform service work for other airlines aircraft on a regular basis.

Just curious

I've said it before (and I may have to say it again). I'm as fat fingered when typing as anyone else. But my pet peeve is "hanger" vs "hangar".

You hang your jacket on a hanger after you've parked the airplane in the hangar!

🙄

I must have missed something here. what company A/C was towed into the Hangar.???

It is not uncommon in PHL for other airlines to use our hangar. There was a Continental express ERJ-145 in for an engine change last week and today USA3000 used our hangar to change something to do with the landing gear (valve I think). Thier mechanics were there to jack and repair their own a/c. I don't know, how much or, if they pay Usairways for the use of our equipment or hangar space.

it is done routinely in PIT or CLT also.....
a scratch your back, scratch mine type philosophy....

I wonder how an airline like USA3000 with I believe approx. 4 to 6 a/c, and charges $120 rountrip to FLL can reciprocate and scratch Usairways back?

is an established industry practice like it or not.
