What has SWA come to? Yes, maybe it can produce 1.5 Billion in bag fees, but what about the loss revenue of loosing so many loyal passengers? Will it really be worth it?? We are slowly turning into just a regular every day airliner. SWA needs to do something in order to keep customers flying SWA, stop doing stuff that will turn flyers away SWA.
Just my opinion but, too many changes in such a short amount of time;

Not a good move for SWA imo. Bags fly free was their niche in the market that won customers over and kept loyalty. Now they are just turning into "another" airline.

I agree with you BM. Not sure why they didn't ease into this with 1st still free bag, and then a small fee for the second. Then later down the road increase the fee slowly and after first year start another small fee on the 1st bag too and also slowly increase its fees on a slow basis until reaching top out goal for the bag fees. I also agree that by doing this for both checked bags right off the bat will indeed loose a lot of loyal customers.
A sad yearly start in aviation, and even worse for Southwest with all these new changes that were hallmarks for decades upon decades at Southwest. Now let's all see how it does affect the bottom line.
