Buying or Leasing B777's , would not achieve the goal of standardization....and would only drive up the costs further. Rationalization...and lowered lease rates is what this is all about. In a perfect world...I would be inclined to agree, I wish we had never opted for the A330 to begin with....but for now, a sweet deal on some B767's is the best we can hope for.

How about getting some 777's? Its a beauty and will have cargo capacity comparable to the A330.

I think that part of the rationale of the entire exercise is fleet type streamlining. So, simply replacing one orphaned fleet type (A-330s) with another (777s) does not work towards the desired goal.

Moreover, 777s carry as many p***engers, if not more, than A-330. Not sure that this is what US really wants.
