US TR: PVD-BGI March 1, 2008

This thread is a waste of time, you had a choice you picked the wrong one, stay with CO. It's been the same gripes all the time. Guess what TEMPE does NOT care.

Passengers as a whole realize that sacrificing meals for price is totally worth it. Continental may not tell you, but you probably end up paying $50 for grapes and peaches. I'll wait and eat caviar at my destination for that price, or bring a bag lunch!

That CLEARLY demonstrates you are not someone REMOTELY familiar with purchasing airfare....are you part of the Tempe managment???

CO is CONSIDERABLY less expensive then US and....get this....RE-F-ING-FUNDABLE!!! Yes! what a novel concept....refundable and changeable for the "premium cabin!"

Boeing Boy is right....

you got that right....if US is the same price, the competition is still refundable. if US is more expensive, the competition is still refundable. US SUCKS.

As I read all these posts I'm struck with the memories of when customers
loved us. We performed our jobs well and were properly paid to provide it.
Now, years later especially after Colodny left and the IBT was voted out we have
continually fallen. I wish I could apologize to our customers for our performance
but I can't. It is not mine or alot of my co workers fault. Our hands have been tied
for along time (almost 15 years) by the upper and middle management of this
company. They owe you the customer a big sorry but they owe us ,the employees'
who have vested 20years or more, a bigger sorry. They made this job, once believed to
be a livelyhood into a dated package with an expiration date. I, recently (about 8 months
ago) saw Ed Colodny upstairs at the airport and he told me that the greatest injustice he
sees being done today is in the treatment of the worker.

Like I said, I wish I could apologize but I wouldn't know what to be sorry about. We still
try but we can only do so much and alot of the time I see employees who just don't care
and as sad as it sounds, I don't blame them. I've said it before, the dignity in this work place
has become non existant.

Thanks

lights on  lights off

If Tempe is as ignorant as me about airlines, then that airline is in deep do-do! I can play the Maple Street like anyone else.

I haven't flown in years and am proud of it. So I don't purchase airfare, and you are correct.

refundable and changeable is a concept for any traveler who gives up their seat voluntarily in an overbook flight that US is guilty of...as are ALL airlines. You can argue the point that if I prefer coach over cabin will I receive a refund? Sure cabin is tempting but can I save money by riding Cattle Coach? I hate carrots.

Working at a couple of airfields I just observe a concession truck loading meals on one airline then another and another. Maybe US gets its meals from the sewer, who cares? Maybe some airlines have their own meals.

Maybe US should and would give the same service as CO, except that incompetent employees would beeotch more because they can't get a raise.

Why would you buy full fare tickets 10 months in advance?

I won't ride in Y on a trip that far....I'm 6'3" and about 260...I don't fit nor do the people around me think I fit in coach....I know when I'm going because I know I get sick of winter in New England around the middle of February...

AND.....there isn't a single business person I know who would NOT plan a year out...so you actually go.

What's pathetic....and why I do not and will not buy US tix anymore except in "there is no other way" situations is that the damned ticket WAS STILL NON-REFUNDABLE!!!! This, for me as a business owner and business person, if the most unforgiveable sin Tempe has cast on us business folk. NOTHING, unless you want to pay 50% more then the going rate, NOTHING is refundable/changeable.

I booked these tix before DL fixed their schedule....from this point forward, I'll book and fly DL. The wife and I were actually SO disgusted with how our last trips have gone on US, we decided we'd just as soon just go to BOS and fly from there on AA.

Yup, bitter, frustrated, should just forget the entire thing and move on....for some reason, which is typical in a completely dysfunctional relationship, I think I can help. Now I'm down to "helping" by purchasing fares where US loses money.
