US Long-term Standalone Prospects

I am surprised by the Reuters article of Doug's supposed new statement to employees. Could it be that reality is starting to set in - that this thing with AA isn't gonna fly?

I am always amused by Mr. Parker and Mr. Kirby's spins on things!

Parker/Kirby in 2008: "Charging for drinks is good, because now people will have a quiet cabin, and they will be able to rest more."

http://www.flyertalk...e/t-867600.html

Kirby: "Charging for drinks better for passengers as there is less garbage to deal with, resulting in cleaner cabins."

Parker and Co. keep pulling things out of their a$$es.... and people just buy into it. They always find a positive spin on things that amount to a pile of bull-sh!t.

Parker post Delta fiasco: "US Airways does not need a merger."
Parker prior to UA/CO union: "Consolidation is a must."
Parker after UA dumping US over CO: "US Airways fine alone."
Parker at the heels of AA's bankruptcy: "A merger is imperative."
Parker today and tomorrow: "A merger is not urgent."

Ohh my... I'm getting dizzy again from so much spinning!!!

:)

It's another merger-wolf miracle!

I have firsthand experience with US Airways’ false promises and destructive managerial style. Dougie claims in a note to employees that a merger with American is not an immediate priority, but at the same time, he is planning events with American’s unions in DC on July 18. And let’s not forget, he struck labor deals with three of American’s main unions in the spring.

American appears to be making progress restructuring, and Doug Parker has expressed his respect for the bankruptcy process and has claimed there is no urgency to merge, yet a merger must have been a priority a few months ago or else he wouldn’t have approached the unions in the first place. So now, several months later, we’re supposed to believe a merger isn’t all that important to Parker and US Airways anymore.

Back in 2005, Parker led us to believe that Pittsburgh would remain an important part of US Airways’ future, but soon after the merger we saw drastic service cuts to our city and heavy job losses. Considering it’s been seven years since the merger, I bet America West and US Airways pilots thought seniority issues would have been resolved by now too—nope, not the case. Parker has other things on his mind such as negotiating contracts with employees that don’t even work for him yet.

A word to the wise – particularly the labor leaders who are running around the country with their suitor: with Parker, what you see is not always what you get. What he says needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Parker’s actions have already exposed his intention to merge with US Airways, and he will pursue it the first chance he gets. Before you throw your support behind this man and his grandiose plans for market domination, do your homework and educate yourself on his history and the 2005 America West – US Airways merger.

Oh for the love of Gob. Here comes Pitbull carrying her woman scorned grudge from umpteen years ago...telling eveyone who will listen to her "look at me! look at me! look at what I've been through!!!!"

Yes, Pitbull, you've been through sooooo much. Thanks for sharing!

Oh, and don't forget smarty pants to ask the crews of Reno Air about their feelings of SWA...stand alone. HA! They acquired Airtran...if they were standalone they wouldn't need to do that.

To the pig:

And this one...a D list loser who subscribes to the Hollywood "any publicity is good publicity" so long as they are talking about you mentality.

The correct translation however, is that "it" is so empty any form of attention will do....ANYTHING!!! Is this all about YOU or Usairways?

And let me repeat this...even if your dilipidated flying trash can of an airline does merge, there will still be plenty of told you so to go around.

What are you smoking? Still trying to figure me out, wings?

As far as I know SYR is doing fine, but please fill me in so I can get a good laugh.

And while we are at it, why does it matter what I say as opposed to anyone else? Use your freedom of speech by pressing Ignore, please!

Hey toothy, so what part of mangement did you crawl from?

And the beat goes on..

It's about USeless. We'll see the loser as your airline merges in your dreams.

BTW, sticks and stones, loser :p
lol you're calling him a loser while you stalk an airline forum...lmao what's wrong? is there not a lav truck forum for you to hang at?

The real lol is why a number of you take me more serious than you should??? I take it the lav truck is suppose to be some sort of jab??? Sticks and stones.

When we live under a dictatorship, then your opinion would matter about me. Otherwise write your thoughts about me on a roll of toilet paper and file it where the sun don't shine!

Is this Forum moderated at all anymore ?? 80% of these posts should be deleted for being WAY off topic - or the topic closed. Sad the way AirlineForums.com has deteriorated into an "approved" personal attack free for all. I rarely post here anymore because frankly I doubt anyone is interested in Facts.

You have any to share?? The forum is mostly an opinion board, and sharing information.

Sorry, but I stuck to the topic and was attacked by those who can't handle the truth. Typical, you're entitled to your opinion, but it must fit our agenda. But if you have facts, please share. I will act as AN-US shield, because they can handle the truth

Maybe you're referring to your own version of the truth. What you gave was an opinion with a very negative slant, which of course will invite challenges.

"even if your dilipidated flying trash can of an airline does merge"

Can you elaborate what you mean by "dilapidated flying trash can" means? Especially when you compare it to the competition? I've read a fair share of very bad customer reports about recent flights on AA. I mix my flying between AA and US. 5 years ago, AA was the winner, hands down. Today, I'm re-building status on US because they've finally come around and offer a competitive product.

If you want to stay on topic ("US Long-term Standalone Prospects"), then maybe try to do it with some facts to back up such harsh, negative statements. You might be respected more if you can illustrate them better.
