US applying for PHL-China

After we got China all the senior people transfer in from ord,den and far as sfo to fly this #### and commute for this trip..

It's because of the egg rolls--they are so fresh over there.
 
I'm not sure how one simple straightforward question is like a deposition, but whatever.

IF he is going to file an objection, I just wanted to get it on the record (since this is like a deposition in your mind) so people can really see what a "friend" to LCC employees PineyBob and FFOCUS are.

That would really be childish, trying to stop LCC from getting a route as part of one's own personal vendetta against a corporation. It would be like someone trying to force LCC to dismantle its PHL hub for their own convenience, even though it would greatly inconvenience people who fly LCC because of its large selection of nonstops from PHL.
 
You can send correspondence and all of it is shown online at DMS the corespondence is assigned a docket number the same as the the issue in this case. Unofrtunately the DOT has not formally asked for application. Delta jumped the gun and sent ion the paperwork early. It is under docket number 27019. The other airlines immediately filed objections sayiong they should wait until a formal application process has begun.
 
Delta has my support. US Airways, as mismanaged as it has become, is not a suitable carrier for this route.

I do hope you are wrong about this one. The route will have its small cadre of folks who bid and work it exclusively. Thus insulating it from the domestic woes of the operation. I have found this to be true of the wests hawaii service. Sure there are mechanicals now and again but nothing like the constant turmoil of domestic ops.

Not only will US not get it, they don't deserve to get it. There is no point in expanding into new markets and routes when you are utterly incapable of properly managing what you currently have.

Since international (and domestic for that matter) operations are nowhere near reliable at this time, they should give up on this and concentrate on making what they already have work properly.
Very true. When DOT route awards are handed out, the Government Agency should look at an airlines Capability in serving the route not only on equipment but RELIABILITY of Carriage, Passenger Satisfaction (DOT complaint ratio) and Competitiveness of Product. The current state of US requires the Management to focus on serving Altoona and not Beijing. (Even though the anticipated service is NOT planned until 2009, the route should be awarded to an established carrier that is CAPABLE of delivering the SERVICE.......an application from US belongs in File "Z", and I will tell them that in my letter)
 
Did you all get this part. Service starts in CLT on a 767, goes to PHL then switches to a A340. Don't we have better things to be doing with our widebodies? Why not put a 321 on this part of the route? What am I missing here?

I'm guessing it's so they can sell Envoy all the way through from CLT-PEK which will help please the businesses in CLT. Plus, IIRC the first CLT-PHL flight in the morning is currently a 767.
 
IMO Usairways doesn't deserve the route. Management needs to get their crap operation in order first. We can't handle what we have. Kirby already stated that the new service (not gonna happen) will be a "business" class product. It will be trashy even if on a new plane. I can ONLY imagine. Let me guess, no crew rest room either? If we get the route we'll have the last two seats on the plane. Oh will the seat pitch to asia be 30"? Usairways to China.....can't even run a sound operation to Bangor. 🙄
