Us Airways Seeks Deadline Extension

Since management appears to be in a "persistent vegitative state", maybe someone needs to remove their feeding tube.

While from CCY we have:

New investments from Air Wisconsin and Wexford/Republic.
More interested parties in talks regarding investment.
Three days last week where the load factors exceeded 90%.
Strong booking for spring and beyond.

Who's right???

The people with the facts or the former employee with so called "connections".

Give it a rest Pitguy...nobody wants to hear it anymore.

Hey rocket man/dude, you're always good for a laugh....

I still say and firmly believe that U is history, sooner or later that company is going to disappear. Unless you're Amtrak where the dole keeps you going, such companies always vanish. At least at Amtrak their CEO’s don’t come and go and taking off all the cream from the top leaving the bitterness to saturate the remaining longtime employees to swim in and swallow.

Hey, this play has worked well in the UAL bankruptcy for almost 3 years now. Any time "time is up", ask for more time due to last minute, unusual circumstances-- followed by a demand for more concessions from the employees.

Beats the hell out of actually having to sit down and come up with a believable and workable plan of reorganization.

Unforseen Developments? Maybe they are waiting on a rebate on the cost of the security friendly "Clear Skies Ahead " buttons and Ad costs? (LOL)

Maybe by asking for two month extensions at a time..instead of one month at a time , they just miht save in a few legal fees for a change?

Maybe MESA wants to see what U is doing performance wise over the next 60 days..before Jonathan ponies up the next installment of Commuter Cash for Clowns?

The unforeseen developments are the higher than expected fuel cost. The money is probably going out faster than first thought.

Well... This is probably a positive development. While, I am no fan of long BK's, I also see no reason to rush through one and get it wrong. Since the whatever Transformation Plan is in place is almost doomed to failure due to the high price of oil, it seems extending BK might be a good thing... No reason to rush out and go BK again within 2 years.

"Unforseen developments". That doesn't sound good. Any ideas on what that may be?

Unforeseen developments:

1. A realization that the so-called transformation plan is completely inept

2. A realization that the only way the company can save money is through employee concessions

3. Higher oil costs

4. incompetent management

Next round of concessions will be announced Monday May 16 with a deadline of June 30th. The companies tactics will be business as usual - - - - Without approval of concessions, US Airways will cease operations. Mark My Words!

Come on everybody, you know the drill......

1. #### and complain about the concession demands
2. Threaten to strike if concessions are imposed.
3. Vote YES to strike if concessions are imposed.
4. Vote YES for the concessions package
5. #### and complain about the concessions package
6. Vow never to agree to concessions again

Genejockey, do I detect a slight trace of cynicism here? I'm shocked! Shocked, I tell you! Round up the usual suspects.

7. Vote concessions in.
8. Go back to number 1.

Actually didn't you already vote in that a vote is not needed anymore?
