Airline: pay cut is only hope

See Story

USA320pilot comments: The pay cuts did not have to be so severe, but due to failed union leadership there will likely be a 23% pay cut for employees who do not reach new labor accords, except the Dispatcher's who will receive a consensual 10.3% pay cut.

Yes.. The dispatchers will take a 10.5% cut this year.. 2005 they take a 12% cut.. So your point is what?

The only thing good about their deal is the fact that we will all get hammered with a 23% cut while they take a 10% cut!!!

Is it a good deal.. Probably not but I would prefer to be hit with a 10% vs a 23%.

Its a tough call all around.. But dont make it sound like they are the big winners.

Their cuts are for 5 years straight and it will take years to renegotiate if we are still here.. After 6 months the 23% expires. Unless we negotiate something more long -term. If U can't make it in 6 months..its over anyway.

The company never had any intention of reaching any agreements with anybody.

What's the management cuts going to be, does anyone know? Or are they exempt from the roll back in wages proposed on Friday?

Theres a big difference between reaching an agreement with a group of 150 to a group of thousands. You try to hide the truth in all your pathetic posts. And according to your following statement I don't understand why you continue on this forum with the same BS day after day:

To much time to quit:

Why? Because I care about this company and I cannot stand dishonest people like the RC4 who have badly hurt thousands of people.

For exmple, in an email to the ALPA NC on September 19, ALPA lead economist Amy Alperi indicated the NC never met the $295 million cost cut target and she mentions NC “non truthsâ€￾ several times. I’m not going to go into details, but her comments support ALPA CLT F/O Rep Lance Svendsen’s statements to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that the RC4 "have misled this pilot group using e-mails, phone calls, resolutions and council letters. ... Their reckless and careless agenda ... has already cost this pilot group millions of dollars in lost income and benefits.''

Maybe it's DFR time...

Just read this article and you'll realize pay cuts will not save this company now or ever: http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/bus.../9756681.htm?1c Two years and they can't fix a simple problem, totally disgusting

And US Airways says the problem is two years old. Spokeswoman Amy Kodwa said the carriers had been working on a fix since the fall of 2002, when the carriers began code-sharing. Under the arrangement, each carrier sells tickets on flights to some destinations it does not serve with its own flights.

The source of the problem is that airline prices are decided by computer programs, Kodwa said. The United computer and the US Airways computer often set different prices for the same flight.

"It's something we're working very diligently to correct," Kodwa said.

This is one small example that most of usairways management is not capable of running water in a sink!!!

Just out of curiosity, how many times are you to repeat "due to failed union leadership"? Many of us feel that our interests are being represented by our respective unions by not succumbing to unreasonable/untenable/egregious alterations to our current CBAs.

A 23% cut in wages is a deplorable demand. But so were the few "proposals" that were presented to the unions prior to the filing. And now the company is once again demanding that labor subsidize the totality of management's malfeasance by acting as de facto DIP financiers.

So many of your posts attempt to incorporate "fear":

out of seniority furloughs
reduction in fleet
contempt of court/jail for slow-downs
termination of "malcontents"
outsourcing
and on and on

But from "this observer's perch" you're preaching to a rather jaded and disenfranchised employee base that has been ruthlessly mistreated. The people of the company deserve better. And hopefully under the scrutiny of the Court this airline will finally be held accountable to a standard of "good faith" negotiations and a credible business plan.
