It's my understanding PIT will have about two-thirds of its pilot and F/A positions moved to othe crew bases (BOS, LGA, PHL, DCA & CLT).

At today's ALPA MEC meeting pilot leaders voted 12-0 or unanimously and passed two resolutions this afternoon.

The first one will allow the report developed by our financial advisor Michael Glanzer to be provided to the pilot group. This is a document we feel every pilot should read to make an informed decision on whether or not to participate in the Company's transformation plan.

Separately, the MEC passed the PSA LOA unanimously. This is a document which finalizes all the language contained in LOA 91, and will provide a mechanism for furloughed USAirways pilots at PSA to bid for monthly lines of time in a more equitable process for these pilots.

There are now reports that the MEC is working together as indicated by the unanimous votes and that the sentiment is changing.

And the new Miami/Ft. Lauderdale base too, I presume.

Those pesky DCA reps. From the very article mentioned in the opening post in this thread:

"I am growing more and more concerned by an attitude than I am seeing return to the [pilot leadership group]," Pollock said in a letter to all pilots on Friday. Pollock expressed concern that some pilot officials "may attempt to dictate the terms of an agreement with the company, or just as likely, attempt to keep (the pilots) from any proposed agreement that fails to confirm to their particular desires or unrealistic standards."

In fact, representatives of the Washington, D.C.-area pilots told their members Friday that the company and pilot negotiators "remain divided" on how much the pilots should sacrifice and "at some point, in very short order we believe, negotiations will end. At that time, some very tough decisions will face the pilot group."

Those pesky DCA reps.

Clue:

The DCA Reps made no such comment and the Post-Gazette was incorrect in their report. They should have said the PIT & PHL Reps, who will likely be neutralized when the pilot staffing change occurs and PIT flying is pulled down.

Nonetheless, the MEC meeting voted 12-0 to support the two resolutions, which is a significant sentiment shift after what occured last week. Today's Tribune-Review article is a more accurate description of what is happening inside of ALPA.
