Updated Layoff Numbers

Today Aviation Daily reported by November 2 US Airways will furlough:
Pilots - 250
Flight Attendants - 487
Mechanics - 423
Fleet Service Agents - 175
Public Contact Employees - 362
Total - 1697
Note- The company has not determined the number of Reservation Agents who could be furlouhged. In addition, the numbers above will be adjusted by voluntary leaves.

Who knows if it will even come this way? Why do they have Overtime all the time. I think closeing all those offices was a big mistake. And only now are they getting were they need to be with res.

Keeping in mind that many flight att are returning from the vol furlough in dec , there will be addtional layoffs added to this number unless many take the vol furlough. I hear they are only offering one yr furloughs with minimum benefits this time around, so there could be a substantial number added to the above number!

I believe the figure that I read in an e-line was that 256 F/A's were coming back from voluntary furlough, so that would put the F/A furlough in the over 700 range.
