Unveiled First US 737-300 new livery (East Metal)

I got to see 505 first hand the second night is was back flying, looks great. There is a 737-400 down in MIA getting painted now. Believe it comes back on line on the 18th of February.

As HOPE777 said 737-401 N406US is in MIA being painted and will be followed by N426US, both of which are two of the worst looking east 737's flying. 406 has three claims to fame prior to her new colors unveiling. Was the first 737-400 delivered to any airline in the world (Piedmont). Was originally named the Thomas H. Davis Pacemaker. And most recently was piloted by our own BoeingBoy on his last two flights at US prior to retirement. I am sure the 400's will look great in the new US livery !

Cheers

It looks great, can't wait to see 406 & I'm sure some of the others who were with us on boeingboys final 2 flts feel the same.

406's paint job was in sad shape.

She will look almost new if that pic in the OP is a sign of what's to come!

I can't wait to see 406 in new paint. I am sure she will look as beautiful as the day she entered service as the Tom Davis Pacemaker!

I think it should be named the "Boeing Boy"!

I appreciate the compliment, but if it should be named then Thomas Davis would definitely be appropriate.

If memory serves me correctly, I recall seeing N505AU on the west coast back in the early 90's. Does anyone know when it first entered service with us? Those 737's definantly take a beating and keep on ticking!! What a great workhorse.

Back in the early '90's, US flew alot of their 733's from PIT/CLT to LAX/SFO/LAS/SEA/PHX. I remember they had a TV Monitor evry 5-6 rows hanging above the aisle. That is the one thing they improved, the flip down LCD. Except somebody turns them on during boarding and they flip down and pop some in their heads.

You former Piedmont folks should send Tempe an e-mail and have them get Mr Davis' name back on the side of the airplane. It would be a nice jesture.

I saw the 400 down in MIA today as I went past. I saw it from about 100 yards away, but it sure looked nice from there! There was also a 767 in the hanger already painted.
I took a picture with my cell phone but it did not work, sorry.
