Tilton HAS to go! While the employees ultimately have few tools, I think it is past time for UAL Union Coalition to state publicly that he has to go for the good of the company (financial results speak for themselves) and put out a full page add in numerous national newspapers stating so. Call it a no confidence vote. I think it entirely possible that CAL might have backed out of the merger when Tilton persisted in having an active management role in the contemplated combined airline - even after 1Q UA results were released. He wants the power & the $$$ and won't go quietly on his own! Somebody needs to kick him out!
Apart from pressure of UAL's financiers and/or shareholders, the UAL BOD is probably the only mechanism that can show him the door. The BOD and the public needs to know his is not respected by the employees. CO is a vastly better run airline - and a better choice than LCC. To join up with LCC just so Glenn can score (another) one for his bank account or feed his monumental ego, is not in the best interests of the employees, the traveling public or the shareholders. As long as he is around, he (and his team) will be always looking for the next scoring opportunity rather than running a world class airline - like it should be!
