There was supposed to be a hearing in NYC today on the TW inflight lawsuit. Anyone hear of any info coming out of it.
Please...informative replies only....no rehash of the merits of the issue..only looking for news out of the courtroom!
OK, the hearing is continued. The Judge will either render a decision and/or take more testimony next week. According to the F/As that were there the attorney who was to represent the F/As was in a taxi accident and is hospitalized. I shall move to opinion now. Getting an injunction is very difficult. It like has to be an emergency. Injunctions are rare. Especially where monetary compensation can be a remedy for the damages.
I hope the TW F/As win their case. The laid off TW aircraft mechanics have one too, or will shortly. American hired off of the street in 01 and 02. These positions were never afforded to the laid off mechanics as they were supposed to per TWU contract. The positons were never advertised. It amounts to about a year''s worth of back pay to every laid off twa mechanic not contacted about these open jobs last year.

KARMA?

Since we''re speaking of Karma...The Dhammapada, verse 127: "Not in the sky, nor in the sea, nor in a cave in the mountains can a man (Ward) escape from his harmful deeds."
June 25, 2003 - 2pm Sherry Cooper will be giving evidentiary testimony in Brooklyn. It is open to the public in Judge Amon''s courtroom. June 26, 2003 - John Ward, John Nikides, and Laura Gladding will give evidentiary testimony.

Mr. Vasquez,
While I find your reference to KARMA to be rather bizarre, and giving the nature of the current and upcoming lawsuits AGAINST the APFA, I''d like to remind you that "KARMA" works both ways.
Today S. Cooper was to testify in an evidentary hearing in Federal Court in Brooklyn. Tomorrow three officers including J. Ward of APFA will be giving evidentary testimony. Down to the wire...
I attended the evidentary hearing today. Court testimony from three APFA officers and the AA VP labor relations lasted from 9 a.m. to 7:20 p.m. Court will hear final oral arguments at 9:00 a.m. and we can expect a ruling shortly thereafter.
Mike is quite correct. There was nothing said about seniority integration or topics related thereto. This is about the injunction and issues related to the furlough.
This ruling will be on a motion for an injunction to stop the July 2 furlough. It will not be a ruling on the overall issue brought by the TW flight attendants.
Arguments went on this a.m. Temporarily suspended while Judge Amon hears another case. Should be done this p.m. and we will await her ruling. Must be done by Monday I believe. This case has gotten very serious indeed.
