US Airways has told the Labor Leaders the "Transformation Plan" and labors "expected level of participation" will be made public on May 5.

Try again it is May 6th, and I don't think the IAM will be there, as of today no invitation was given and it would probably not be accepted if it was.

IAM needs to stay home. Especially after the Airbus farm out issue. They have no need to talk to them.

Wonderful. So the plan is rejected before it's even announced. And you expect to turn US around? Remember it never hurts to listen ... if you don't like what you hear, then put your foot down.

The plan is the same old thing, job cuts, pay and benefit cuts, and outsourcing as much work as they can.

And once again I will say this company cannot adhere to contracts that were negoiated in two rounds of concessions that they agreed to, so there is no need to negotiate a new one that they can just violate at will once again.

And no airline has been saved by just taking from the employee's wallets!

And all they did was change the conductor, the music is still the same!

I suppose. Guess I was hoping a change in CEO would bring at least a BRIEF honeymoon and cooling off period. So much for that ...

If Lakefield is serious he would bring the four remaing airbii back in-house to overhaul.

Yes or no: Do you or do you not have the equipment, tooling, space, etc. to do the work in-house in the timeframe it needs to be done? This is not meant to start a debate ... I just don't recall ever seeing a straightforward answer to this question.

We have all the tooling as a matter of fact US Airways shipped MAE our tooling. And we have the space that was proven and we have an arbitration award that says the company cannot close down a facility to circumvent the contract (the bus work was to be done in Tampa).

The IAM presented several ways to accomplish the work in the current hangars!

I have never seen so many negative people in all my life.

If I was so unhappy with where I worked I would hit the road.

If the IAM elects to not participate in the new business plan the company has a huge and negative surprise for them. If the IAM wants to participate they can or they might just become irrelevant with no RLA relief.

From a corporate perspective, I understand the company is not concerned one way or another about the IAM. Would management like the IAM to participate? Yes, but as Bronner said last week the restructuring will go forward "with or without employees."

And equipment?
