Total gates at LAX ?

how about you come back and show us when AA has indeed added a bunch of new flights to Asia that neither DL or UA have decided to add.

Then you will be right.

so far, it is merely a hope that AA can grow and other airlines cannot or will not.

specifically, I can guarantee you that AA will not have gates while no other carrier will have the ability to gain additional gate space for its own growth.

I can absolutely guarantee that. Put that in the book.

More growth at LAX, starting 9 Sept - SFO is seeing more flights and seats, with peak-day (x236) frequency up by 1/3 (to 12 flights) and capacity up over 16% vs the current summer schedule.

Here's what's in WT's spankbank:

I WILL note that AA is one of the FEW airlines that serve the LAX-SFO market that DOESN'T currently have a Shuttle/hourly type service pattern.

Congrats and welcome to the club.

You've gained nothing but parity with other carriers that have been doing it for years.

and B6 has announced they will add Mint service to BOS, including on the LAX-BOS route where AA is the dominant carrier.

http://investor.jetblue.com/investor-relations/press-releases.aspx

AA will be forced to either add even more capacity or cede share, will watch premium revenues diminish as B6 offers a better premium product for less money, and will be once again faced with having a premium transcon aircraft in the 321 that is not suitable for the route because of the excessively premium heavy configuration.

Given that 1) DL has barely a token presence in that market with its couple daily flights and 2) ofcourse Mint blows the DL cabin out of the water,  therefore does this addition finally put the nail in the coffin on BOS-LAX for DL?
(you know what they say about the #3 carrier is a market ... ... ...)

it is precisely because DL is a fairly small player while BOS-LAX is one of AA's largest BOS markets that the risk of Mint is a risk to AA, not DL.

I haven't argued that BOS is a major force in the BOS-LAX market and never mentioned DL.

thanks for showing why DL gets sucked into so many conversations in your attempts to deflect from the reality that B6's announcement is bad news for AA.

This is your best spin ever!

Thanks for showing everybody your true colors.

Psst.  Whatever happened to your #3 carrier in a give market is doomed theory?  Doesn't it apply to DL?  Double standards?

What WT actually said was: if you're #3 in any market you're doomed, unless of course you're Delter.
Then it's all winning all the time.

AA not DL is most impacted by B6' announcement of Mint service from BOS to LAX with UA in the hot seat to SFO.

the only spin is to try to bring DL into the discussion to avoid admitting that AA has the worst strategy to compete in the premium cabin market from BOS and is the most impacted.

But what about your statement that if your number 3 you are doomed?????

jcw,
LAX - SFO shuttle US first? Wasn't PSA and AirCal the first ones? Definitely first with hot pants and go go boots

WorldTraveler has lost all credibility.  His double standards have doubled back on him.  He should do the merciful thing and ban himself.

This is what is known as "WT situational logic".
