4 at TBIT
13 at T4
4 at T6
10 at the box

AA also has 2 unused gate allocations. While not relevant to day-to-day operations, it is relevant to AA's ability to swap out gates when LAX builds new facilities like the Midfield.

Someone posted the other day that the box is down to nine gates due to the restriping for the E175s, but I never get out there to count them.

I thought TBIT was for all airlines to use? Those aren't AA exclusive I believe.

You are not up to speed on AA's LAX real estate. AA has preferential use of four gates at TBIT that AA can use for domestic or international departures and/or arrivals.

But, if AA doesn't surrender at least two of those gates to DL, DL will sue.  Well, as soon as they get the DCA suit, the AA/US merger suit,  and the DAL suit going.

Pretty sure it is just international.

Generally, and I could be wrong in this case, airports do not give domestic flight preferential use over International.

AA can't play keep-away with them; from section 3.2 of the lease (part of the above link):

American shall make all reasonable efforts to facilitate and accommodate other airlines' use of the TBIT Preferential Gates, particularly for those flights of other airlines needing access to FIS facilities, which obligation shall include, but not be limited to, the towing of inactive aircraft at TBIT under the control of American, American Eagle, or any approved subtenant of American.
The obligation above kicks in when the other TBIT gates are fully utilized (covered in the next section of the lease).

AA can use those four gates for mainline or Eagle, domestic or international.
