The time has come for skilled, intelligent, professionals to stop complaining and hoping for a better union or a better airline industry.

Just seek out, with the same diligence that we have sought a craft union, with the same effort, time, and sacrifce a viable exit strategy and career change.

Skilled professionals will NOT work for peanuts, and it has become obvious that working in the airline industry is no longer going to be a professional and lucrative way of life.

Let the rich filthy theives and cheating liars have their cheap travel and low fares, and seek use of your skills, talents, and ethics in another arena.

Good Luck, and I look forward to reading from many successful previous airline employees who finally broke the chains of bondage, and only wish they had done so soon earlier in life.

It is no longer who dies with the most toys wins, it those who stay in the airline industry flat out lose!

That "customer" would have you work for $1.00 an hour if it would get him a cheaper ticket.

Not to totally defend or bash the customer, but they have proved that they will NOT fly a particular airline for $5. It is probably the same customer who will gladly pay the auto mechanic a couple of hundred dollars to have brake work done on his car. He might pay $29.99 to have his oil changed and fluids checked at the local quick oil change place.

What the customer doesn't realize is that he is getting screwed. He is waiting longer and longer for his bags, waiting for gates, etc.

So if the customer is only concerned with personal TV and cheap fares, he has no right to complain.

You get what you pay for!

These are the same customers who line up for 20 minutes on the Starbucks line at the airport just to pay $10 for a cup of high dollar coffee and a muffin. They never complain about that line or the price, but God forbid they have to pay any money to fly along at 500+ MPH.

Coward huh? I think you twu clowns got the corner on that market tw-ewer when you have to bring stock clerks, retirees, teamsters, rampers, coffins, felons, and a hiding Art lew-by to a debate for mechanics. Couldn't find enough mechanic support? Hmmm....

Guess what genius? AMFA card drive 2 is going right along, see you at the NMB in 05. ... and the twu out shortly after. ;) :p

Yea the TWU are cowards.

They went to a Judge to try and get an injunction to stop me from posting stuff on the internet and were terrified after the Judge told them no. They begged us not to reveal their home addresses. Whats the matter, the company has it dont they? Or do TWU International officers look at their own members as the enemy and not the company?

Amazing!!!!

First it was "If you don't like our Jim Little without further ratifcation Industry Leading Concessions, then why don't you quit and work somewhere else".

Then I raise the white flag and concede that the TWU has single handedly destroyed the profession's future by giving industry leading concessions that even Bankrupt Carriers cannot match, and thus advise others to seek employment in other industries, and now I am a coward that will just quit and run. When you call me a coward I quickly think, have you ever filed a federal lawsuit against your employer, have you ever been through a TWU Kangaroo Court, have you ever had to turn over all of your e-mails for 18 months while being accused of an illegal job action, have you had a high-school princicpal cancel your meeting because someone has threatened the building and the school district, have you ever been called into HR because your union bretheren ratted you out to management for fear someone would hear the truth, have you ever been nearly ran over by the Local President in a pick-up truck, have you ever had grown men calling your wife telling them stories in an attempt to breakup your marriage, and even after all of that still stand with pride and say AMFA is a better Union than the TWU? Well I have and I am NO COWARD!

You know, it is OK though, you can call me all the names you wish, attempt further degradation of my character, yet, I am the one seeking a future without dictators and so-called union men without an ounce of fight in themselves, and you are the one defending working for peanuts and giving away the farm.

Who do you think will have the last laugh?

The CEOs and stockholders will, they have to be laughing out loud now. Instead of working together to figure out how to eke a future out of this dilema, the "who's union is best" still runs top bidding here. Haven't you guys discussed enough to know you will never change CIO's mind, or Ken's and Bob's? Peace brothers. We are fighting the wrong foe currently. It's time to put your efforts together to further our longevity, not continue this debate of unions.

You speak of "ounces of fight", all I have witnessed is ounces of arguments. Well, the debate will be over when we have lost our profession.

Yes they are laughing, and have been for 22 years at AA. When you have a company union that gives concessions at every turn, especially in profitable periods, it has to be a gas to go up "against" a sellout company union in so called "collective bargaining". In 1983 the twu started the industry on B scale because Crandall had made omnimus predictions of the AA future, and he needed to reduce costs while the company expanded off the backs of us. In 1989, the company again pitted the new hires against the "I got mine" A scalers with the C scale, and even lower starting wages. Then came the infamous SRP/OSM scam of 1995, we are the only airline that has 3rd party inhouse outsourcing, because the twu saw more dues payers and the company got a slave wage labor rate which has been exsploited to the hilt. Not to mension a then unheard of 6 year contract with 1.5% per year increase in the most profitable period this airline has ever enjoyed. When we asked for our share? Sorry, you signed a twu concessionary 6 year contract, see you in 2001.

Seed, this is just some of the history of twu lowlights from our worthless union. The twu cannot and will not fight, ever. If not for AMFA at NWA, who fought management all the way to a PEB while members rolled tool boxes out the door ready to strike, we at AA would never have enjoyed our short-lived raise we recieved because of the AMFA/NWA contract. If it was the twu at NWA (horrific thought there), the unelected cowards in the International would have folded like a house of cards to the management threats AMFA endured; stated "your just lucky to have a job", and sat back with their six-figure salaries. Kinda like they do right now.

In order to try and fight CEO's of rogue corporations, you have to have the leadership of a union thats willing to lead. With the industrial business unions and the non-existant afl-cio, you are witnessing the results of crooked, unaccountable thieves helping management bring a profession to its collective knees. It must be pure hell in twu International land to keep lining their pockets while the membership suffers and remains divided as ever.

The twu has to go, and it can't happen soon enough.

I agree with seed the time to debate which unions better is over for now, they all suck in my mind. Its time to ban together and fight these companys that are raping us. put this debate on hold about which union is better and lets stand as one in all airlines and say no more

dreese, like seed, you miss the point. We can NOT all stand together as one in all airlines and say, "No more!". The reason is because the twu and iam and ibt DO NOT want us too. The iam, ibt & twu fear this because it would mean that they would suffer huge dues loses which will affect THEIR wallet. This simply will not be allowed to happen.

The ONLY way we can all stand together is to belong to one CRAFT & DEMOCRATIC union... AMFA. If all unions suck in your mind then you do not understand the principle of voting for union officials that must listen to their membership's needs due to the democratic system that holds them accountable.

Why is labor facing such unprecedanted attacks? Because of industrial unions inability to stand up on their two feet and fight. They prefer to live on their knees and suck pennies from their master airlines urinal.

You want to stand together and fight? Then sign an AMFA authorization card and then get another AMT to sign one.
