i heard from a few nwa agents in my city that the other day only 2 agents showed up for work and the others banged out sick. well i guess you get what you pay for when it comes to contract companies such as mesaba which is the company in abe. oh well

I'd believe it. Even being paid $15 an hour in 1993 I thought we werent paid enough.

On the best day(s) these stations barely function....And most of that is due to the "regular" NWA employees that are part of the transition team (they suck for doing it BTW, but that's a thread for another day).

In my city, the crews that come through tell tale after tale of gross incompetence, and horrible service. Things like vendors being unable to perform rudimentary tasks like changing seats, issuing tickets, operating Jetways, dealing with diversions, etc.

Lack of training, low wages and high turnover will ensure that this continues.

i like the horn and rope thats funny. and to the other two posters you are absolutely correct. more money being tossed out the window due to inept mgmt

There are some positions that can be contracted out with little or no problems. However contracting out your frontline employees that are going to have upfront and direct contact with your customers is a bit silly.

just as they did with the mechanics. those mechanics are just as much frontline as the other agents cuz they are the ones who make dam sure the planes flew. since then nwa doesnt have anymore mechanics but like a poster said in another thread, the sad state of the airlines are in the dumps due BUSH and the OUTSOURCING
