What will protesting accomplish? What will the outcome be? I'm not trying to say things are perfect. But why is the reaction to the problems in the company to protest?

Imus got fired in 1 week from both jobs, MSNBC morning show and CBS, besides public out cry, protest was mostly from the pressure of their employees.

That's what unified protest creates. Cost MSNBC $8 million in profits from his morning show.

With all due respect, the employees may have voiced their opinions, but it was because the sponsors were dropping like flies that he was fired. No company really cares about it's employees anymore.
