Teamsters Pension Fund in"RED ZONE" - They need your AA AMT Money!

I don't know their still at UAL, UAL has a history of swapping Unions so I'm assuming if they don't like the Teamsters they will switch again, their not presently in a card drive.

The ibt promised us a double vesting pension. They claimed they could negotiate it outside section six.

We recently ratified our first agreement under the ibt and it contained NOTHING for retirement....no pension, no annuity, no 401k boost.

In other words just another in a long line of broken teamster promises

As for the card drive.....if the ibt believes that there ISN'T one at UAL.......well thats fine, let them believe it.

I don't have any Idea whether there is a card drive at Ual are you saying their is a card drive & it's actually doing Very well ??
& if their is a card drive who is it for ?

Why would you believe that you can break a contract & start negotiating before it's amendable date are you saying UAL Mechanics are very gullible & will believe anything without researching it first. ? A contract is a contract & your stuck in it till it's amendable date you don't get to open it when you want & start negotiating again regardless of whether you switch Unions or Mergers or anything else .... It's a contract & your stuck with it till it's done.

That's not what the teamsters were telling the UAL guys. By their own words from their lawyers, " We can and will open section 6 early and get you a real contract".

So it's either one of 2 things;
1) The ibt are liars. They lied to the mechanics to get voted in under false pretenses.
2) the ibt has some inept lawyers that do not know something as simple as you just stated about section 6 openers.

Either way, this is not a union that is good for anybody.

Again, I still have to questions your motives for supporting them. Out of your own admissions, the teamsters are no good and misleading, so why? It has to be they promised you an appointed position if you help them deceive their way in.

Haven't you been reading my post's ?? I made it clear many times why I'm supporting them & whether I would have ANY Interest in being involved once they or any other Union replaced the TWU, I'm supporting the Union that is getting the most support by far from Tulsa & I believe they might actually be able to get enough cards to file & I do not care for Union's in General so once the TWU is replaced I will have nothing to do with whoever replaces them but paying my dues & hoping that they will get me a decent contract.
Oh and ALL Union's are Liars ..... It's a Union thing ..... that's why I really get tired of them, instead of having one organization lieing to me (the company) I get to have two organizations lieing to me & screwing me over.... Ugh, one is more than enough thank you.

Your pushing AMFA Whoop are you looking for an Officer position in AMFA ??

If you think AMFA is a Panacea & is going to solve all your Mechanic problems then your in for a rude awaking.

I'm glad you brought that up. Yes, I am interested in an officer position in AMFA. I would love to help represent mine and my peers position to the world. But as we both know, there is only ONE (1), UNO, I'un, EIN, 之一, , Один, אחד ,way to get an officer position.

And that is get ELECTED by the membership....... unlike the ibt, twu, iam way of handing presents.

You can be Elected by the TWU why aren't you an Officer now if you have that much Interest in Union Involvement ??
Chuck & Bob are officers in the TWU & Even Dave Stewart ( TWU Informer ) has run for office, I have never ran for Union Steward much less an Officer, I didn't even swear in at the Union hall when I was hired, didn't go to my first Union meeting till I had been working for the company for 5 years & in 25+ years have only been to about 9 meetings, I laugh my ass off when people accuse me of wanting an officer position in any Union because it really is funny.

Here in local 514 we elected a Fleet service clerk so anybody can be a TWU officer..... LOL

I never said I believed it. Point in fact, I rallied against it.

The ibt had one of their slick handed lawyers write an opinion piece on the subject, citing several examples through out the industry. The problem with the examples were that they all were MERGERS and NOT simply one union replacing another. This was lost on most who, like you, were simply looking to get something for nothing be it openers or a pension.

Here is a video where the former Airline Director describes how they're going to open the contract. Pay close attention to the example he gives....A MERGER SITUATION ...

Are you really THAT ignorant???

The ibt campaign on UAL took place in 2007-2008.

At the time the contract was not amendable.

We just ratified our new CBA at the end of 2011.

Report away.

You made an outlandish statement and I asked -a question- were you that ignorant? You responded with an equally disconnected response so I can safely assume you are that ignorant.

You are ignorant of what transpired at UAL. Its not an insult its a statement in fact based on your own replies.

Here's a little help

ig·no·rant/ˈignərənt/
Adjective:
  • Lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated.
  • Lacking knowledge, information, or awareness about something in particular: "ignorant of astronomy".
