TA reached for TWU dispatchers and Ops specialists at AA

Metal we have guys in our own group that have a general idea what's coming and I can guarantee you are going to vote no as well. I don't know what Planet people live on sometimes?
Probably the same planet as a lot of my co workers. There are a lot of F/A's out there that wish we were in the same boat as United. Waiting for a JCBA 5 years and counting. Bogey, I admit people hate change. Myself included. And most of these work rules USAir F/A's foisted on us are plain crap! Except they didn't know how much better it COULD have been. In the end I appreciate the extra duckets and will learn to live with the BS and hope the next contract is negotiated by a much larger original AA bunch. I'll take a slogan from the TWU. "We'll get'em next time!"

Only problem is the TWU never having "Gotten 'em next time".

They do have catchy slogans and are fantastic with the T shirts and bumper stickers.

In terms of actual negotiating prowess they're bloody awful.

That TWU slogan you refer too actually means:
They will get more concessions next time. They always do and that's a fact.

For anything we didn't get, the TWU can say "we'll get em next time", but the really can't, cause we will be gone.

What do you mean you will be gone? Do you mean your group or you as an individual?

Did you find something in your agreement to be lacking? Over 85% of your group voted yes. So less than 15% didn't like the deal.

To me I'll have to think the thing that you and none of us like are the consistently rising healthcare costs? That's a problem that's outside of the company's control. That problem needs some type of Political intervention or for Americans to stop eating so horribly, getting so fat and being so sedentary on exercising. And also why our insurance is giving us financial incentives to try and live a healthier lifestyle.

People need to stop being Fatso's. And we should be telling them that because they're costing us all money.

But I am curious cause now it seems you have some hesitations about the TA you just ratified?

TA is just fine. The TWU sucks. The dispatchers will be leaving the TWU.
Ok. If that's what the majority wants then I wish you well. But you have to gain the majority to accomplish that task.

Same situation as last time I suppose? Going to start your own group.

Ironic that there is a user viewing this page right now with the handle. "Be careful what you wish for"

Just ironic.

What does he hate about them? Are you even a TWU member? Are you a NYC transit worker? If you are a transit worker then I can see how you might be happy with the TWU as they actually REPRESENT them!
I am convinced that you are here to push whatever piece of crap the Association brings back. You've stated you're only here until a contract is voted in.
You talk about how many more ground workers per plane AA has than competitors.
You're asking why members are unhappy.
You live in NYC.

I believe you have been tasked by someone high up in the International to help the AA ground workers choke down whatever the Association brings to the membership!
Just my opinion from observations. Nothing personal.

It was a real question and the truth is I'm IAM and I can't give them a glowing review I will be TWU when we get a joint I'm at LGA and I'm here 38 years and I've heard horror stories about every union so I  came to the conclusion they are all the same.Personally if you want another union go for it.

No. There is a dispatchers only union out there that we will join that currently represents dispatchers at Delta and United.

Hate is your word, suck was mine.

They do nothing for us. 99 percent of their resources are tied up with other groups. During this round of negotiations they provided us with 2 fleets service clerks and an Envoy AMT. While I have the upmost respect to my brothers and sisters in those fields, they do not know my issues and do not walk in my shoes.

The NMB screwed us on their bs decision last time when 95 percent of the dispatchers signed cards. Those were the LAA guys. Now hearing from the LUS guys, they want out to.

The TWU may have been good for us in the past, but not in today's world.
