Ta Dah! New Paint Job

Team-theme planes and city planes are not the way to go. Too expensive and they always end up looking ratty especially if engine cowling etc is removed. Eg. our Arizona plane with reguler HP livery engine cowling or nose cone. Ugly. The only city plane I want to see is the City of Pittsburgh.

At AWA the teams payed for part of the paint job and the planes needed painting anyways. So in the long run the company saved money.

Lookg pretty good !
my mom likes it better than the older one, tho the older one was pretty cool also
it doesnt say the A/C Type of anywehre right ?
i wish they did that, would be cool !

is there any way to project the new livery onto different a/c types? much like many creative and considerably talented contributors did prior to today's unveiling...
i don't know if seeing a 330 or 757 in the new livery will reverse or amplify my disappointment...
nevertheless, the retros are both symbolically and aesthetically rich!!! and, i suspect, it is just a matter of time before this becomes the new normal?!?!

You do have a good point. I think all of us pretty much know the different fleet types, but customers are not as aware. At the gates, I get questioned many times about what is the type of aircraft at the gate.

I have less problem with the tail than with the way the cheatline curves under before the nose. That just looks odd to me. Yeah, yeah, I know it eliminates the issues with the radome.

i flew on it today from pit-clt. i asked doug parker if i could ride with them to clt. he said absolutely. it was a blast. they served inflight cafe meals and had an america west f/a and a us f/a working the bev carts together. i took pictures . got to get them developed though. the only us executive onboard is lakefield. the rest is hp management. i also met with the new vp of inlfight. very very cool guy. i had alot of fun. was invited to proceed to phx but i had to go home. the news scheme looks nice in person. they were giving out pins with the retro logo's and also stickers. a very awesome day for usairways. i was proud to be a part of it .

I was debating whether or not to head up to Skyharbor this evening, I guess if there's free pins involved, I'm going!! HA!
Thanks everyone for the pix.
Those of you who are complaining and critiquing every little detail are funny. Get a life!
It looks good, it looks new, it is what it is.
LOVE the retro liveries!

I'd love to see someone try to apply the new paint job onto a Dash-8 100 and 300.

Did they make you pay for the IFC meal?

Do you know if they paid for the rights to show the movie to PHX?

All kidding aside, I think that Parker and his crew are doing a great job to market the new US. Finally, the Philadelphia Inquirier didn't put a negative spin on something US unveiled. I hope they market a lot more in PHL.
