Would have been nice if the crew knew it COULD happen as opposed to realizing after the fact that it DID happen. What were the comments by the Capt. as he parked the airplane at the gas station in BUR? Wonder if there were other words of wisdom from these guys? "It said we had 30 feet!" or something else along those lines.

I agree that it would have been nice ... but, unfortunately, the fact remains that they only had the information that was available, not what they now wish they had.

Like so many accidents, both the BUR and MDW event chains started miles away from the airport and were years in the making. Only at a specific point in time did all the factors align to produce the unique outcome.

The list of parties who will share the finger-pointing looks like it will be long.
