SWA Makes Quick trip to ORD

What the UA airplane in my avatar is too much of a disguise for you?

So, based on that logic, am I to assume that WNJetFixer is really KENNY?!?!?!?!?

Mr. Fish is only pretending to work for Frontier and really starred in "Finding Nemo"?!?!?!?!

Why would anyone assume an avatar is an accurate representation of the poster??

BOY, you guys have put me a "Difficult Dillema"

I've probably been a WN Detractor(on this board) as long as anyone.

Yes, Bird strikes, landing next to Gas stations, or public Intersections are factual.

But who among us(our carriers)hav'nt had a "string of bad publicity", over the years ??

I feel that anyone suggesting that WN cuts corners on Maintainance, or would'nt address future problems PROMPTLY, is "fooling themselves" !!!!!
NH/BB's

Exactly... like the old saying goes, people living in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Absolutely NOT! Never applied nor would I ever apply to fly 737's for the rest of my career. I like the long haul and international flying. You can only have so many ABQ layovers in your life.

I just like seeing the shine rubbed off the SW apple. People need to see that they are not the cheapest or the best option in many cases. The SW marketing dept. has done a great job of covering up the inadequacies of the carrier. The recent events are starting to show the true SW colors.

***SOAP BOX ALERT ***SOAP BOX ALERT***

I bet your the crew member that vacations in France and orders the double americano cappacinio, with skim milk and nutmeg at Starbucks.

I come to this assumtion based on your arrogant stance. There are no cover ups here. We have problems granted, but nothing that proper communication can solve. Hard work and dedication can not be minimized by your statement. I see it everyday, without question.

You assume that we're all F**kups over here bounding around with absolutly no direction. Be covered up by some spin team.

The shine is not off the apple Sir. It's waxed with the gleen of my profit sharing and 7.3 % 401k match. So go pettle crazy some where else.

All Southwest employees monitoring this site let's make a point to Mr. Magsua out of work.

I say after a few month's out of work maybe he'll be headed to the 7-11 to get a cup of regular coffee and a side humility.

WNfixer- Well I would go out on a limb and say that the person with that name is a WN mechanic, but hey I am crazy that way.

You have a SW jet in your avatar so should I use your logic and presume you fly for American and you are just disguising yourself as a SW employee? LOL

Oh you guys are really thick over there. No wonder you don't recognize the end of things.

Magasu uses an "old paint" UAL 767 as his avatar, that's a pretty good hint. Not that it would do any good to point out

Old paint??? WTFO? It is still the majority of the fleet. Just like those bsb jets that are out and about. Also by the way it is a 757. Perhaps we can do a aircraft identification class?

Since we're still playing the assumption game, I squinted as hard as I could at your tiny a/c, and recalled your post about being a big, bad long haul guy, and gave you an unearned promotion to the 767.

My bad.

BTW, YES, "old paint". I like the new mainline paint job better.

Also, I've allowed you to distract me from the original post, so I'll stop responding to you now. You're like a bad cold that never quite goes away. I deal w/enough used kleenexs on the a/c.

Showing your industry knowledge eh? The 757 and 767 are common cockpits and type ratings. We fly both. It is standard at all carriers that operate the two airplanes.

Oh well good inside scoop :D

ACHOO!

In keeping with the original post.....Why did your guys divert to ORD?

B) I am NOT an official spokesperson for Southwest Airlines B)

Having typed the above disclaimer, using my knowledge gleaned during a flight attendant career, I'd say it was Runway Length.

But you tell me, Pilot guy.

You've had a bird strike on T/O, one engine is shut down, you're loaded with fuel, and your departure airport has short runways.

Why would you NOT take advantage of the nearby pavement??

Well it looks like our standard is the one that works. It seems to be the one where the bills are stamped "Paid in Full.".

Swflyer you're correct. Hearing on the MX side that's what seemed to happen.

Just probably not the first time you guys have had a problem at MDW but all of a sudden you become conscious of the limitations of the airport? That is the reason I ask. Just wanted to hear you say that safety is now being moved to the forefront of the operation. For that I commend you.

Is that the best you can do??? Funny stuff. Pretty ironic that you guys had to use the gates of UAL to assist you at ORD. I guess that is the problem with CH11. we accept any ones packages. a6,B,J,J1,T,Z,J to 9L= Would love to have heard that read back.

I would think a Thank you was in order for saving your bacon at ORD with gates and service. Wonder how many of the pax on the WN flight needed pants and a shower like that guy I saw on your TV show. The guy that was too smelly to fly, they gave him soap and ramper clothes to travel in. I about fell out of my chair laughing. Also, do you fly any sober people? Seems to be a tremendous amount of "abbreviated" paxs (at least that is how the drunk guy I saw prenounce anebriated) on the A&E program.

Yep, Two WN jets parked at the UAL B terminal at ORD. One broken and one to rescue the stranded pax (too bad they don't share tickets with the other carriers). PORTION DELETED
Golly mags....I remember when my wife was returning from Spain a few years ago on the Monday after Thanksgiving. Bit of a blizzard hit Chicago. Had reservations on the 5:00 p.m. UAL flight, but it was cancelled. The 2:00 p.m. was leaving about 5, had empty seats too...but UAL said nope, you can't get on this one - your bags are checked on the 5:00 p.m. flight and you can't fly without your bags. Then they cancelled the 5:00 p.m. flight. She slept on a cot in the ORD baggage claim that night. Caught the first flight to KC in the morning. And her bags were waiting for her in the UAL baggage office...seemed she might not be able to fly without her bags, but her bags were able to fly without her. Meanwhile, the cowboys at MDW were running late....real late. But a coworker who was supposed to be on the 5:00 p.m. flight out of MDW actually arrived in KC at midnight. Now, even though UAL shared tickets with AA - it didn't seem to do them much good.

But I will tell you that your attitude on these boards is the reason why I fly AA overseas.

Well you know, I am not a pilot. My sense of wit is limited.

Elaborate on how United saved our bacon in ORD.

Finally, regarding passangers, you sorta want to help them out any way you can, since they pay your salary.

Where you have parked had it not been for UAL?

As for the pax issue, do you mean if I need a new set of clothes I should buy a ticket on SWA and get free digs? Novel. Perhaps you should ad that to your advertisments. "Ding, get new clothes if you are too smelly to travel when you book with SwA. Can't afford the bus? Fly us."

Cowboys, is correct. I bet the folks on the BWI-MDW flight were happy to be getting in until the accident happened. I take it you prefer to "get in" versus safety.

Did you wife ask to be rebooked on AA? Did you wife go to AA ask to be rebooked? Travel requires some noggin work. Perhaps you should educate said wife before she travels.

As for further fodder to my MCI dislike. I forgot that our Asst. Chief Pilot at ORD is a MCI commuter. The guy is first class Richard Cranium. He has been the subject of a no-confidence vote by the rank and file.

KC, you and I have argued about the airlines for quite sometime. The last big battle was over UAL wages. Now that SWA earns more per hour than UAL don't you see the hypocrisy in your past arguements? Should you not be on the bandwagon to reduce the SWA pilots wages?

Yep, just what I want in an airline. One that is willing to cut corners to "get me in". Just like the AA LIT accident the pattern to an accident is a culture.
