why is clt growing mainline flights and international flights and capacity when few airports are.
I sat in on two event meetings and we were told that US is planning on approx 710 flts a day out of CLT as soon as 18R goes CAT III, this was confirmed by a manager from US also....but he explained it as putting 5 pounds of poop in a two pound bag...
 
18R should be fully operational by the end of spring, however then 18C will start to be resurfaced so it probably wont be until november or december that all three parallels will be open. But 710 flights a day does not seen out of the realm.

I believe the end of spring may be questionable, I dont think the 6 month navaid burn in for 18R has started, and the 18C project has been pushed back two years...But the way this place runs you never know what happens from day to day....

In the US press release announcing the code share with Brussels Airlines, US will start PHL-BRU non-stop again on April 7th and it will be YEAR ROUND instead of seasonal.
 
The 332 clt-phl has something to do with the faa. We have to fly it domestic on the schedule. It only has to be 1 leg, if we don't something happens and I don't think we can use it on the domestic side. We had to do this with 767 years ago.
 
Not true, that is if only something breaks and then its fixed it has to make a domestic verification flight, only per incident not a domestic flight everyday.

9 remote lead lines were installed this weekend on E ramp, terminal expansion starts in May...


They are expanding the end of the 21-32 E gate concourse again. Where PDT parks the Dashes on 31a/b and 32a/b will be expanded around. I think they are adding 6 or 7 additional spots (hence the new lines) and are going to eventually build covered walkways out there like they did when they expanded the terminal last time.

new updates beginning may 31st US airways new route clt-yow starts and mainline returns on clt-iad on the 1030 pm departure from clt and the 700 am departure from iad
