i called my dad in the morning today while he was at CLT Hangar, surprisingly there is a 767 in there for 2 days, its door was damaged or something, but the real good news is that after those 2 days,, its going in the paintshop to get the new colors !!!!!!

I cant wait for that !!!!

I think this news is a bit pre-mature..as Acft 656 , the one that has "Door Hinge" damage will be going back into revenued service sometime on 23 Oct 05....and not straight to the paint shop.

This weeks Maintenance brief and score card addressed the issue of painting in a very lose/ semi-direct manner...and contracts for the painting the New Livery itself are almost all hammered out...as we have 2 companies that have dealt with seperate vendors in the past...and the bid for the work is still not awarded. Price and slot availability will rule the day on this subject.

Lastly...the graphics for the "New Livery" paint scheme on the "Wide Bodies" is not nailed down either. It's still in developement for lack of better terms for the A330-300's and the B767-200ER's

The only new schemes you will see on any "Wide Bodies" in the short term will be a transition to the "Star Alliance" livery which we are obligated to have on a percentage of our Acft. This number will increase once "Single Carrier" status is formally achieved and the fleet is officially merged.
