This is some of the information that is coming out from the union in PIT..

This place is great, how can you work in a place with no rumors?

Friday's latest..... We voted for severance, but we won't be able to get it... the continuing negotiations that went on after we voted says that in order to get severance and sick pay now you have to exhaust your seniority in the system.....Getting unemployment might not be, because they are going to offer full time employment as ramp service......we got three Q's coming in and then that's it...

Let the bumping begin, PHILLY is such a nice place to get bumped out of !!! ;)

Your statement is not true.

There were NO negotiations after the final offer was thrown to the NC, second there is not requirement for someone to leave their station and excercise there seniority in order to obtain severence.

Do not post false information.

The company is laying off 15%, 600 jobs in fleet service, there is no jobs for mechanic and related unless those 600 refuse to take the 200 open jobs in PHL, and the majority of the jobs are part-time.

Don't even imply that this is false information.

I don't know how long you have worked for US Airways but I can tell you with all certainty that anything can happen when the new book arrives..

The IAM is never upfront about anything. Things show up in the book that none of us saw or voted on and the response from the union is always the same. Oh, to bad thats the way it is.

This information is coming from the Union in PIT.. The union leadership. So don't sit on the board and tell anyone its false.. You may have sat in negotiations, you may have written the thing, no one cares. When the final copy shows up don't be the least bit suprised if this is in there.

Remember the Union Leaderships famous saying.

"OH, they can do that"..

If you want to jump off the IAM bridge go right ahead but don't expect everyone to follow you.

Maybe there was negotiation and maybe there was not but one things for sure the official language has yet to be inked and when was the last time the company adhered to what was inked in the last contract?.

And read your current contract.. You must exercise your seniority in your station before you can collect your severance package. You must exhaust it.

Don't be the least bit surprised if the company prints the book and removes the key word "Station"..

The unions reply. "Ooops, we missed that one".

Do you think for one min. that Lakefield and Company want to pay anyone any severance? Your dreaming. Thats 15k a person that leaves.. Your talking about some serious dollars here.. So if they can slip in one little thing that says "Hey we will pay you but you have to make sure you can't hold a job" it wouldn't suprise anyone.

If the changes are not on the term sheet, there is NO change to the previous agreement.

The IAM and the company will be sitting down within the next few weeks to write and proof ANY approved changes to the previous agreement.

Please show me where anything in the book that has "shown" up was not voted on, except the letters of agreement.

Anyone have a list of the state by state payouts?

If you are going to end up on the street anyway, you may as well bump through the stations that will give you the highest payout for the longest term.

Please please tell me the company has never violated an inked agreement. I need to know.

I can hear the cries now.... I only voted yes for this to get my severance. Oh oh wait I was confused. Can we have a revote? No No No you were confused on the wrong issues plus you voted yes so confusion is not legit argument

Already collected FULL severance pay 2 yrs ago, severance doesn't matter to me !!!! "WERE MY CHECK" !!!!

The enhanced furlough letter did not go anywhere, it is part of what was voted on and was voted into effect.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

And I voted NO!

We're concerned about this angle, too.

We asked the AGC if he had any further information other than the term sheets on the web. We asked for further details, that were in writing, as we have learned to our pain that is where the devil resides.

He replied he had no futher info than what was on the web.

We flat out asked, if the company, post-vote and pre- BK emergence, could unilaterally change terms due to economic distress, and he said no.

With that in mind, read

http://www.iam141.org/PDF/US%20Airways/USA...ree.1.13.05.pdf

Particularly,

"The IAMAW agrees that in the event this Agreement becomes effective, the BK Court order authorizing such effectiveness shall provide that if thereafter, PRIOR (emphasis mine) to the effective date of any Chapt. 11 plan of reorganization for US Airways, the Company is in grave and imminent danger that it will be forced to suspend, discontinue or materially reduce its mainline flight operations, as compared to the operations as of the date hereof, it may seek to have the Court modify the Section 1114 retiree benefits....."

and,

" In the event, after confirmation of a plan of reorganization, the Debtors suffer extreme hardship.....the Debtors.......may institute proceedings.....to effectuate such changes as the court finds necessary to avoid liquidation of the Debtors."

In the informational meetings, the IAM lawyer said this was standard language.

The beatings are not over, not by a long shot.

While this is currently applicable to retirees, does anybody believe it will stop there?
