Perhaps that (rebuilt numerous times) is the reason it is the "only bridge of its type in the world".It is the only bridge of its type in the world. It has been rebuilt numerous times since the 1850s

Heck, make it a fun event --- have the FAs pass the Captain's hat around the cabin until they have enough money to pay for fuel.
...
None of these suggestions are any sillier than selling soft drinks.....plus, they let the passengers feel like they are contributing something -- make a diversion a fun event.
Well, taking off from DTW today, there was a ground stop in PHL and the NW DC-9 pilot returned to a gate to fill up on fuel because he said that he did not want to risk a diversion once the ground stop was lifted. For what it's worth...
I have a younger brother who is a 12 year running Delta Platinmum Medallion...and he's telling me their FF group is certain Delta is working toward reducing fuel they carry as well...for some reason., it's not generating the attention it is at US....because the two pilots groups are suffering through in-fighting possibly? And the company is content to watch the two fight?
He claims to have been diverted TWICE in the past month, when normal times that wouldn't happen...
Now keep in mind, I'm not a pilot...neither is he...so we are perhaps two of the least qualified humans on earth to speculate on this.
Well, it would seem that NW needs to start a remedial fuel skool like USAir has....Well, taking off from DTW today, there was a ground stop in PHL and the NW DC-9 pilot returned to a gate to fill up on fuel because he said that he did not want to risk a diversion once the ground stop was lifted.
He is just a puppet getting his strings pulled, and also trying to keep his 500,000 a year job.Well. Capt. Skinner is now on video record with a flat-out lie. While he says that the pilots involved were in a no-jeopardy situation in the simulator because they would not even be in the pilot seat, the actual event was different.
From the PHL Domicile Update:
" This event consisted of a one hour brief, followed by a two hour simulator session. We were told that these pilots would be there to observe, and that in the simulator would be a Check Airman and an Instructor Pilot performing the demonstration. What actually occurred was that our pilots sat in the left seat and acted as the PM and did operate some controls. "
So, Capt. Skinner....those Armani pants on fire?
(If is has not already occurred, the video has probably been edited or deleted. But we all know what was said.)
PHL the great equalizer.Well, taking off from DTW today, there was a ground stop in PHL and the NW DC-9 pilot returned to a gate to fill up on fuel because he said that he did not want to risk a diversion once the ground stop was lifted.
PHL the great equalizer.
