Leaders of US Airways pilots union today expect to weigh a proposal from management that would allow the company to shift regional jets between various US Airways express carriers -- with possible negative effects for laid-off pilots.

IAM is not the only ones being "outsourced".

This should worry every pilot on the property along with the furloughees, as well as every single labor group.

No one is immuned to being "outsourced". Management is well on their way to doing just that.

Evening PitBull,

"This should worry every pilot on the property along with the furloughees"

You hit the nail on the head. Unfortunately, from what I hear (you DO have a big grain of salt handy I hope!!), the "discussion" within the MEC is not about the scope language but about what the active pilots will get in return.

Ahh so now it is time for the big boys to get a little of there own medicine. They have screwed there own at the wholly owned and now they are going to get screwed by there own idiotic LOA 83. Let them move all the emb's over to MESA and let more of your fuloughees work for the really good airline. Seems like we better put lots in our savings accounts as the the mainline is going to assure we have no future.

well it sure sounds an awful a lot alike alpa is very scared to death now. i guess they are starting to realize that there is no point in dealing with this group of mgmt who just wnats to outsource everybody! why not outsource the whole entire mgmt group it would be a lot better without them

No more scope relief.

Any more aircraft, whether 1 seat or 400 seats must be flown within the US Air Group. Negotiate realistic pay rates for those aircraft, not scope relief to send them to Mesa, Chautauqua, etc., etc. Keep the assets at US Airways from now on or there will be nothing left.

Apparently the PIT and PHL LECs are the only ones that realise what the ultimate game plan is here. Or at least I hope they do, and it's not some attempt to leverage lining their own nests!!

SAVE US Airways, NOT Mesa, Chautauqua, etc., etc.

The RC5 proffered a resolution today to recall of the Negotiating Committee (NC). At that time master chairman Bill Pollock suggested that it might be beneficial to stop the process for a moment and get some input from ALPA International and in particular ALPA president Duane Woerth. Woerth was asked by MEC members a series of questions with a general tone of “is it wise to change the Negotiating Committee at this juncture?â€￾ Woerth stated unequivocally that changing the Negotiating Committee at this time “would send the wrong signal to the financial markets.â€￾

The MEC remains in session with no agreement yet on the NC or LOA 91, but there will be news one way or another on these issues before the MEC adjourns the meeting.

Oh well, if Duane said so then it must be right.

Wasn't it Duane that signed the Mesa bottom feeder contract that is proving so useful to United, US Airways, America West, and anyone else who needs up to 90 Seat 'Small Jets' flown for starvation wages while decimating mainline flying?

Is that the same Duane that executed CC Air?

Is that the same Duane that ensured at the last BOD that the formula for paying the President of the Association would be modified in order that those Airlines who had given massive concessions would not impact his own exorbitant pay package?

Didn't want to feel the pain of your constituents Duane?

Oh yea, Duane knows what he's talking about all right. Don't rock the boat, or you might hurt the dues income. Don't take a stand for what is right, and set this industry back on course because I'm not here for the profession, I'm here for the power and the money.

In the worst of times, the finest leaders are born. That leader is not Duane Woertless. Forget ALPA National, do what is right for the pilot group. Siegel is killing US Airways, not Southwest.

Bear96:

Bear96 asked: "They needed Wise Man Woerth to figure that out?"

USA320Pilot comments: Bear, the RC5 are in the process of burning the airline to the ground. If true, then maybe United could pick up US Airways' assets without any employees.

Respectfully,

WRONG USA320pilot..... it's our incompetent management that is in the process of burning the airline to the ground !!! We can work for free and this place will still lose money !

What do Section 1/Contractual protections say about that?

Don't be spreading Management doomsday propaganda. This is a dirty business, don't legitimize management threats by repeating them, or inventing possible maybe Asset Transfer scenarios to unnerve those who don't know better.

Woerth was what, a Delta pilot, and has been "in the union" for a bunch of years.

If he knew and/or understood the financial markets in the least, he'd be out making money to that end.

What Woerth is really afraid of is losing more dues paying members.

Hopefully, the representative majority of the AAA MEC continues to represent their members, rather than allow themselves to be boned by Duane Woerth.

Just ask the CC Air guys. Or ALG/PDT pilots. The list goes on.
