Republic's E 170's

I saw several press releases recently regarding Frontier teaming up with Republic to fly E170's for them.

Today, Frontier announced the first of those routes, which is DEN-SDF. That route begins April 1.

Is Republic moving some of the US Airways 170's to them, or did they acquire some on their own?

I believe they will be using E170s that fly for Delta. I don't think RW can use the US birds for other airlines.

At the end of 2005, Republic Holdings subsideries operated 50 E-170's. I can't find anything much on deliveries during 2006, but on July 21, 2006, Republic Holdings amended their original 2004 order with Embraer to 78 firm orders for 170/175's (including those already delivered) with deliveries ending in July 2008 and options for a further 75 170/175's with deliveries from July 2008 to September 2012.

Republic will be moving some planes (4 to start) over from Shuttle America, also the 86 seat 175 now appears on US schedule for April.
