recall list (furloughed)

Don't you think the company would have the decency of telling people in the recall letter that a no response equates to a resignation?
[/quote]

The letter clearly stated:

"If you fail to return the form at all, you will be considered resigned and it will result in your removal from the Flight Attendant Seniority list."
BTW, does anyone have the final number of returns with pass/return info?

The only way you would be considered PASSED (other than bidding to pass) is the case where a F/A didn't bid all the base choices and their seniority didn't hold their bid preference; then they were considered passed. The company wants to be rid of the East furlough list. With the numbers posted thus far, looks as though they may have slashed it by half.

The letter says" If you fail to return the form at all, you will be considered resigned and it will result in your removal from the flight attendant system seniority list."
So for those that thought they could just not send it in..well...the deadline was 2 hours ago..oops. Should have read it correctly.
I agree with sending a thank you..or something to the company...because she must have been hearing phone rings in her sleep!!!

I agree with you, for those who did not read the letter shame on you!
Are you board yet since you have finished at MA. I do miss it.

I tried calling Thelma, but got voice mail. I am sure this has been a hectic process for her, and today even more tedious. It is my understanding that as of Friday, PHL and BOS were full, and LGA had openings. A furloughed F/A whose seniority is NOV. 2000 spoke with her, and Thelma told her she could only hold LGA (again, as of Friday)...so this recall could go pretty deep in seniority. But I DO NOT know the updated information.

Tried looking on theHub, but it's not working for me...AGAIN! Anyone else having problems getting on??

Well, if Thelma was correct in telling her that then I must have gotten PHL because I put LGA 2nd and I am Feb 2000 class!!!! Wow...I hope she's right...I wont count my chickens yet though!!!

Yeah, but you know how we LOVE to wait until the last minute to submit information <_< ...so by yesterday, it could have drastically changed...I am also hoping for PHL, and I am worried with my Nov. 99 seniority...oh well, we'll just wait and see....

SO MDA is finally done? I thought it was the end of the month? I left there last April, couldn't handle it anymore, and I was beginning to hate my job and the crap we were all going through...God bless all of you who stuck it out!!

I stuck it out till May 1. It is done May 28th. But, they have been furloughing us every month. I would have been furloughed on May 28th..but to save someone junior to me that really wanted to be there that last month, I took a voluntary furlough.

for those who failed to reply to the letter, will there be any recourses for getting their status restored? i believe they were responsible to keep an accurate mailing address on file with the company, right?
i say tough toenails...

I agree that any flight attendant who fails to respond is clearly in the wrong, but the problem is (I believe, and PitBull can correct me if I'm wrong) nowhere in the contract is the company allowed to do this... send notices of "possible recall" to everyone, with the effect being the resignation of everyone who does not respond. Now, that does not justify people not keeping their addresses current with the company. But I don't think the company should be permitted to do this.

Pitbull?

This might be off topic but I have been furloughed since 11/01. I was lucky enough to find a flight attendant job with Flight Options (corporate) . I have been there for almost three years and now they are laying off flight attendants. The timing is good as I just accepted a potential recall with US airways. I know I've been gone a long time but I would appreciate any feedback on what the pay is like now. Also some feedback on morale here. Im hopefully not going from one sinking ship to another. Thanks.

Only the first 200 letters were "OFFICIAL RECALL" Notices. Therefor, only those people that failed to respond out of those top 200 can be removed from the list.

Section 19-2 of the Contract:

I. The Company shall recall furloughed flight attendants in order of seniority. Notwithstanding the previous sentence, a flight attendant who leaves the service of the Company on a Voluntary Furlough With Limited Recall (VFLR) as covered in Letter of Agreement 41, will be offered one
recall opportunity after the actual recall of all other voluntary and involuntary furloughees. Notice of recall shall be by certified mail, return receipt requested, sent to the most recent recall address provided by the flight attendant and shall specify: the name and address of the Company official to whom the flight attendant shall forward his/her reply and the
approximate number of days of anticipated employment. A furloughed flight attendant failing to notify the Company of his/her intention to return within seven (7) days after receipt of notice of recall and who fails to return
within sixteen (16) days after receipt of such notice, will be considered to
have resigned.
