I am a bit confused. PSA put out a newsletter to it''s employees saying that they will be getting CRJ''s starting in Sep. Is that a true statement? They also said that they are burying the Dorny''s (THANK GOD) and replacing them with said CRJ''s. I read on this board that MESA is getting the CRJ''s??? I can''t make heads or tails of any of this. Can somebody plese shed some light?

In May USAirways announced an RJ order for 170 aircraft. In the press release it stated that PSA would receive 60 CRJ 200s with deliveries beginning in Oct 2003.

What you may have been reading recently is the announcement this week that the order that U had for 25 of the CRJ-705s would be converted to 700s and flown by MESA under the J4J program.

Here is the link to this week''s announcement.

Clear as mud now, hope that helps.

PSA began training its pilots to fly the CRJ-200 on June 16 and the first aircraft will be delivered in October. The company ordered 60 –200 model RJs and delivery is scheduled to be complete by April 2005, which will provide the company with 4.4 new CRJ aircraft per month.
In addition, US Airways vice president of corporate planning Bruce Ashby told the US Airways ALPA MEC on June 26 that if the MEC approved the placement of the CRJ-705 at a participating wholly owned carrier, these larger RJs would also be placed at PSA.
However, as we all know the MEC rejected management's attempt to place the CRJ-705 into the US Airways network and management has opted instead to place the CRJ-700 into service at Mesa Airlines, which may also violate the pilot's working agreement.
Best regards,
Chip
